IUPA Chapter
Greetings,
To my fellow law enforcement officers. You are entering the last year of your collective bargaining agreement. Some of you have already have reached out to IUPA about information on how to switch unions too. You have time on your side. BSO needed a full year because they have 17 districts, sid, motors, aviation...... and it took time to get in touch with 1400 people. A PERC drive for you will amount to someone standing in front of your department for 2 days while talking to all 4 shifts. Your timeline to file for an election is May 20016 to August 2016. In the next few weeks and months, please keep an eye on the BSO page and IUPA's webpage. You are at serious legal risk staying with the PBA. The core legal staff of the PBA is already making plans for employment elsewhere because the bulk of the work comes from BSO. The PBA now has less than 50% of its payroll to pay 100% of its bills. Do the math. How long can you make payments on a million dollar mortgage, pay staff, supplies, taxes...... with only less than half of the income? The PBA pays between $75-$125 per hour for lawyers. IUPA pays $300. Where do you think the lawyers want to work? Start the conversations now, get your ideas together, wishes and so on. Marano was the arch enemy of BSO. Rodney is yours. You need to sever ties with the PBA and force Rodney back to the road and insert your own executive board. Good luck, be safe and IUPA will be in touch.

This sounds great! Would someone from IUPA stand outside the PD so we can sign the cards? We have a lot of interested officers from all ranks we just don't have anyone with a set to lead the charge. Please be more specific on the legal coverage. This has become more important than ever.

Contact the State Lodge of the FOP.
The Fraternal Order of Police is the world's largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 325,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges. We are the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities. We are committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those we serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation. No one knows the dangers and the difficulties faced by today's police officers better than another officer, and no one knows police officers better than the FOP.
