If the cops aren't enforcing the school parking, everyone complains. If they address the problem, everyone complains.

Good job to the officer. Officers need to stand their ground and not put up with flagrant law breakers.

The body cam would have been helpful here; we could have heard the upstanding citizen berate the officer and refuse his lawful command.

Lady Blame yourself for parking and not moving, then blame the local politicians, state law makers, and school board members that allowed that school to go up in that place like the many other schools that are a constant traffic nightmares all over Dade county. Have your lawyer sue them don't blame the officer for your stupidity and righteousness behavior in this matter. It would of been awesome if he would of tazed you, bet you'll never disobey another police order again. As far as MDPD goes they are just doing their job since School board police can't and has no officers to set presidence on these matters. This is a huge problem that continues to affect everyone, with so many charter schools piping up everywhere, population in Dade going thru the roof there is simply no planning period. But don't worry you will soon have a place to park in downtown in one of those new parking garages Dade will help build and give away at a low lease. Then you can walk to the school and pick up your kids or use the Dade empty busses also. And don't worry IA will look at the video and your complaint and wipe their asses with it you will probably here back from them with 5 to 6 years from now. Since when is it illegal to park on the grass? Happens at the Dolphin Mall every weekend. Go have a ticket festival there you might get a promotion afterwards with the thousand of tickets. All this woman deserved was a ticket for illegally parking on the grass no need to take her out of the car like if she was some damn criminal. Have fun if the lawyer doesn't go after your pension...

Why did a MDPD Motor handle that and not a school police officer?
The school board did not appreciate the PDs handling things at their schools and not being able to manipulate the crime stats and created the law enforcement joke of the century.
They are always claiming that the schools are their jurisdiction, so we need to stay away and let them handle crap like this.

If there are signs posted yes it's illegal. Not arrestable but illegal. Where the lady mest up is at not moving, refusing to show ID, and not getting out the car for the arrest. Stop picking and choosing what it's convenient for you to hear or read and look at the whole picture. She shouldn't have RESISTED A LAWFUL AND SIMPLE ORDER.
