If you think you can be a better leader then take the Sgt. Test, Lt test or whatever test to advance. If not, stop complaining.

Compstats were not in place either and police work was not based on how many drunks, homeless and poor mentally ill you busted based on minor misdemeanor violations but how you served and treated those in need, back then police work at politics were two different things and honor and pride was everything. Now days some come to sites like this to vent frustration because if you express yourself openly you will face retaliation from those who can't stand the truth, it is sad that we have so many fixable problems but our differences and the hunger for power and control does not let us come together as one...
    Very true !
I was on the MPD from 1975 till 1998 , back in the 70s and even early 80s it was a PLEASURE to come to work, 90% of the bosses always had your back, if you had to administer a beating, or shoot someone, again, the bosses were on your side.

We basically ruled the streets, and the bad guys feared us. Guys like this Alfonso character, would have been ostracized not just by the officers, but by other bosses too, for the most part we worked as a team, and always backed one another. From what I hear these days, this is not the case ? So glad I'm not there anymore, it's a crying shame, that this dept, rated one of the best in the nation along with LAPD back in the 70s , has come to this level.

Militant Muslim asst chiefs, porno starlets , majors guilty of felonies (Lexus Jackson) and many others, Sure we had a few bad apples, and a couple of prick bosses, but it was a WHOLE lot better back then. Oh yea, and your sergeant was God !
Never the less, he would be right alongside on a 3-15, and would turn around (as not to be a witness) if you and the guys, had to do some street justice to a dirt bag, LOL ! Oh yea, been there done that, happy days, but no more :-(
