The weekly CO getting arrested/fired report

The Florida Department of Corrections Office of Inspector General (OIG) today arrested Correctional Officer Sergeant Regina Belluz for the felony charge of Introduction of Contraband into a Prison Facility by a Public Servant. The charges stem from Correctional Sergeant Belluz introducing contraband for an inmate, into both the Madison Correctional Institution and Cross City Correctional Institution between March and September 2015. Sergeant Belluz resigned today shortly before being arrested.

Secretary Julie Jones said, “As evidenced by our recent arrests, the Department has absolutely zero tolerance for staff misconduct, especially that which violates the laws of our state. We will continue to aggressively pursue and take action against those who take part in criminal acts.”

The Office of Inspector General initiated a comprehensive criminal investigation after receiving investigative intelligence that Sergeant Belluz was having an improper staff relationship with an inmate. The investigation confirmed that the Sergeant was writing numerous letters to the inmate describing their improper relationship, some of which included provocative pictures of the Sergeant. Additionally, the Sergeant deposited monies into the inmate’s trust fund, and opened a Facebook page with the inmates name on it, and designated them “In a relationship, on Facebook.” The actions taken by Sergeant Belluz are serious violations of Florida Law and Department policy. Upon questioning by Office of the Inspector General, Sergeant Belluz gave a complete confession to the above crime.

Following the arrest, Sergeant Belluz was transported to the Madison County Jail and was being held on a $10,000 bond. The Office of Inspector General would like to acknowledge the cooperation and assistance provided by the State Attorney’s Office in the 3rd Judicial Circuit.

Ever read that weekly newsletter-thing they send out highlighting the good stuff that officers (on both sides) do, promotions, etc? Every one of those lists the contraband found in prisons. Weekly. Contraband. Every single week. And not just a random phone or half a Xanax pill...LOTS of contraband.

How does that stuff (phones, drugs, etc) get in there EXCEPT by the officers themselves? Regardless of how little you make as a correctional officer I cannot ever see sacrificing my ethics and morals by bringing in things for inmates. Then again, I cannot ever see myself beating someone senseless either, scalding them in a shower, gassing them for kicks...

In a serious anonymous discussion I'm curious to know why it happens.

Why it happens? The corruption happens because that particular person has always been corrupt and they thing they will benefit financially from their corruption and will not get caught. a lot of these corrupt officer are just dumb people, plain and simple. The physical abuse comes from a combination of job burnout, anger from being in a dead end job (no pay raise, lack of upward mobility, aka spinning your wheels), or complete arrogance of your own authority/power, etc. Some people just cannot handle any type of power/authority and they abuse it and they lack any compassion for another human being. Some of these people have anti-social personalities and I blame people the chain of command that see these type of people and do nothing. We all know who they are. EVERY profession has these type of people. They need to be identified and eliminated.

I call it a smirk. But when her inmate pal dumps her dumb ass because she is no longer useful to him, that smirk will come off that mug. I would get it a little if the inmate was rich, but really what does she gain by screwing some poor ass inmate with no future. Now she will become a felon! What is the thought process??

You probation pukes are nothing but pos. You have probation officers arrested for rape in Miami. You have probation officers arrested for giving convicts their guns. And then you have a lazy azz probation officer who did not do his job in Deltona and many people died. How about that ahole.

The beat goes on, beat goes on
Drums keep pounding a rhythm to the brain
La de da de de, la de da de da

Charleston was once the rage, uh huh
History has turned the page, uh huh
The miniskirt's the current thing, uh huh
Teenybopper is our newborn king, uh huh

And the beat goes on, beat goes on
Drums keep pounding a rhythm to the brain
La de da de de, la de da de da

The grocery store's the supermart, uh huh
Little girls still break their hearts, uh huh
And men still keep on marching off to war
Electrically they keep a baseball score

And the beat goes on, the beat goes on
Drums keep pounding a rhythm to the brain
La de da de de, la de da de da

Grandmas sit in chairs and reminisce
Boys keep chasing girls to get a kiss
The cars keep a going faster all the time
Bums still cries, "Hey buddy, have you got a dime?"

And the beat goes on, the beat goes on
Drums keep pounding a rhythm to the brain
La de da de de, la de da de da

And the beat goes on, yes, the beat goes on
And the beat goes on, and the beat goes on
The beat goes on and the beat goes on
    The beat goes

Cletus is a broken record, keeps repeating the same incidents, over and over again. The Deltona incident happened 11 years ago and this fat guy is still talking about it. What a loser! Probably still lives with his big, fat momma!
