    The things Ive seen

Blame starts from the top. Lack of leadership and accountability.

-Officers buying and installing aftermarket lights on their patrol cars. The Sgts and Lts see it and say nothing
-Tattoo policy enforced in some districts and on some shifts and not on others
    -Officers with unapproved magazine pouches
    -gunbelts not meeting DO specs
    - carrying 3 spare mags
    - placing their newly purchased AR in the trunk and saying "Im not certified with it yet but I carry it just in case".
-Unshaven in roll call, hair not up for women: completely unconcerned with brass coming in and making the officer and Sgt look like a an idiot
-Officers afraid to work. Everything gets 34-09d.
-Pat downs where they miss guns and drugs
    - No one wants to run a person even when they have the ID in hand to see if they have a 40
-Using cell phones in roll call (Instagram, Facebook, Texting)
-Not writing down Bolos or watch orders
    - Milking calls to the point where their own sgt gets dispatched and not having the common sense and work ethic to 07 the Sgt.
-Officers have no knowledge how to properly address Sgts or Lts. Walk into their offices as if it was a cafeteria
-Officers dont know where to sign an OT slip or do a proper worksheet.
    - Instagram and Facebook pics of officers in uniform at work followed by them out drinking or half naked at clubs in other pics

Now I know the rhetoric on here is gonna be "F-U, answer calls for service and do ZERO proactive work until we get our money" or a diversion like "Whats the porn queen upto?". And if you've been here 5+ years I dont blame you. In fact you are 100% on point But the above "things Ive seen" are from people not even off probation or barely off probation. Officers that havent had the roller coaster ride of the f'd up contracts or concessions.

And in the end, you reap what you sow and leadership starts from the top. 0

I agree for 95% of what you mention. However, as far as carrying weapons to protect one's self. I agree with the street cop. If I was still on the job, I may have a surface to air missile in my trunk, well not exactly but I think you get my drift? Back in the day, most of us looked sharp, and were in great shape. Today ??? Well I'm not sure, from what I've seen ???

Oh yea, and we ALWAYS backed each other up. Most looked good in uniform, hair cuts, etc. If you kicked someones ass, no one would ever rat on you. We did proper police work, and the bad guys feared and respected us.

And lastly, your Sgt NEVER took a call ??? If he by chance got one, you would 07 him right away, especially if you wanted early e/o for a hot 33, last week in November off, etc , etc. It's the way it was, and it was great !

I'm curious, wtf are you going to do about it? I dare you to tell me not to keep my AR in my trunk. I dare you to tell me something about my 3 mags or my vehicle lights. I dare you to ****ing tell me to write down 22 vehicles when we can't even chase them. I'll get a sleeve tattoo fresh just to see how no one tells me anything.
Let's see how this goes for u *****.

There isn't much left here, it's a sad state this department is in.

We have a front going of a professional department when within all we have are groups fighting/ conspiring for positions, money, greed and politics. Meanwhile those that come to work and try to serve a profession are dumbfounded by chaos within.

LMAO! one day, we going to have Lone Wolf terrorist come to Miami with body armor head to toe, a fully automatic AK-47, and have Syrian war experience. He will put the city in full anarchy mode and dumb ass officers like yourself will get one in the head cause u think your city issued weapon is good enough. Don't worry though; I'll finish the job with my un authorized AR and go home to my family while you bleed out on the street cause you are so concerned for DOs.
