    New Command Structure

Supposedly effective Friday, we have only one LT. Colonel and five new Bureau Chiefs. Thomas is the new and only LT. Colonel. Thompson, Duarte and Williams are three of the new Bureau Chiefs. OPC got a new Bureau Chief as well, did not hear a name. Hildreth was demoted to Captain and offered a position in Troop H. She went on a two week vacation to think about it. Creamer demoted as well and will report to Thomas. The empty Troop Commander positions will post on Monday.

It's too bad. This really could have been a chance to cut some of the fat at the top. The Regional Chief position is useless. It added another layer of bureaucracy to an already top-heavy organization. One Colonel, two Lieutenant Colonels (one for Patrol and CVE, the other for Academy, BCII, Aviation, RCC's etc.) and the ten Troop Commanders would have been sufficient. Homeland Security, OPC, Technology and all other non-essential GHQ broom closet positions should have been cleaned out and the personnel sent to the road. (Seriously, why does FHP have an office of Homeland Security? And OPC is not needed because IA investigations are now done by OIG, FHP doesn't need a sworn Major overseeing computers. That's just ridiculous)

    Correction

There will be only four Chiefs. The three you named are correct. The fourth is yet to be named. Kelly was moved to Quincy. Then Dixon was put in opc but not made chief. Majors will be posted

Dude, read your email. Its spelled out for you right from the Col.

Four chiefs not five. OPC is Dixion and he is a Capt not a Chief. He will report directly to the Col.

He demoted a male LTC to Chief and a female LTC to Captain, now keep in mind both were Captains prior to promoting to LTC. Glad to see he thought that decision through. What message does that send?

Where did you get your information??? To use your terms for understanding purposes; the female LTC went directly from Captain to LTC over patrol ops with no district or troop command experience. The male was once a captain, but went through the ranks, before making LTC.

There was a female troop commander promoted to Chief today.

If you are worried about the message, how about this; a competent person regardless of gender would not have a problem.

It sends the correct message. Hildreth being demoted is a blessing for her. She should have been fired due to major incompetence. Now she can try to earn her stripes, uuuh bars.

Thomas good call as Lt. colonel. Williams good call as Chief, since she's been in that position since Guzman left.
Now for the Major appointments. Hopefully Hall is not on the list. But if he is, send him to Miami. they will eat him up, and not in the fashion he normally likes to be eaten up.
Little Hands For Troop E Major. Azz Hall to Troop E.

I am assuming you are privy to Hildreth's performance evaluations? Or should you get your information straight? Wasn't she a LTC for 3-4 years, surely if she was not "a competent person" as you implied she would have been demoted say a few years ago? Or this was an experiment? But I assume you though that through? So by your logic, she, COL B and the DHSMV executive director are also not competent, for not noticing how incompetent she was. As for the female that was promoted today, doesn't she retire soon, say next year?
