The PBA is our alleged union, but it is also shady. The union representative at the airport is Kevin Durkin. Same past President of TPD PBA who was forced out due to shady deals, regarding high salary to a secretary, vehicle usage, etc. Then he comes to the airport and even though he has no college degree he skips the corporal position and is appointed Sergeant by none other than Chief Paul F Sireci! The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority hires his family members. Durkin negotiates our contract with the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority! Conflict of interest, Quid Pro Quo? Did the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority have knowledge of this? Where is FDLE?

There have been so many distinguished police officers at Tampa Airport Police Department who have put their lives on the line and done the right thing for the right reasons. Let's never forget the shootout in 2005, the large amount of currency we as a team confiscated from drug traffickers. Along with life saving CPR events, safe escorts of Presidents, fund raising, organized auto theft arrests, etc. The list goes on and on! Sireci would take credit for our accomplishments and admonish us for not enough statistics! Most importantly, there is a dead young girl named Lucindi Lane who should never have died! We as police officers at Tampa Airport have helped so many people over the years, especially young people stranded at the airport. This girl should not have died and if she was from a prominent family there would be a substantial lawsuit! Zink said it's sad and someone made a mistake! Give me a break, our job is to help people! She could have stayed in our muster room, Burger King or been given a ride to St Pete / Clearwater Airport! The bully, Paul F Sireci will be gone, but let's honor Lucindi Lane, a young girl that should not have died In a violent crash!

Congrats on finally getting rid of that pompous ass hole for a chief you had!!! They didn't need a study to find low morale in the PD, it's been that way for years. That guy should have been gone a long time ago when the former head of the airport was run out of town and then failed at the Atlanta Airport. They were both the same conceded ass holes. The PBA is a good group. If you want it... your new Chief should partner with and work to change your PBA Union Representative to someone the majority can trust. That Rep should be able to work directly with the Chief to do what is best for you. It should not be an us against them mentality. It should be one team where everyone counts the same and their input counts too. Good luck Brother!

Good luck with that, there is very little transparency at the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority! Janet Zink will make sure to protect the interests of the airport before public service and the Sunshine Law!

Have you ever seen a police department that does not put out press releases on criminal matters? They just wait for inquiries from the press and then go into protection mode! That is fine for a business but not a governmental police agency! Paul F Sireci with his so called 44 years as a police officer knows better but he just played the game for his big paycheck! Then he thinks he is above the law and takes kids out to a secure area of the airport and gives them M16 rifles. Then he has the nerve to post photographs of the kids with military issued M16 rifles on Facebook! I'm sure the Sandy Hook parents would not be to impressed with the actions of this police chief. Then Zink says he did nothing wrong! Could you imagine any airport police chief in any area of the country performing a similar stunt! They would be suspended or fired!

A few years ago he made just a little less then the old TPD chief which I believe was around $135,000
