You're a nut, but I'll throw you a bone anyway and to anyone else that is fed up with the current admin. If you want to see real corruption in the Charlotte County Sheriff's office and not the crap you spew out look no further than BP's 2nd in command TR. Do a search for campaign donations for the last Sheriff's election. You see that jail vendors and employee's of jail vendors made considerable donations to BP campaign. Not only did they make donations of money, but time as well. There were employees of these vendors that actively campaigned for BP (on their own time). These vendors then had their contracts extended after the election. TR has received merchandise delivered to his house at agency pricing from detention vendors. He used this to "buy" his way into the #2 spot when DL left. Additionally through the command staff at the jail he has modified hiring requirements. Applicants are turned away for whatever reason they can come up with. If they have any experience their record has to be squeaky clean. This is done under the guise of making this the premier agency. If they come from the State system this is nearly impossible. The bad supervisors there exist and persist as they do here by passing the buck down to the lowest man, woman. If you smoke tobacco underage you're out. If they just have a bad feeling about you, you're out. This keeps jail staffing perpetual at below standard levels. He has also reduced training for jail deputies. Their block training has gone from two 8 hour days down to one 7 hour day. This guarantees undertrained staff. Without proper training officers will mess up. Jail commanders and supervisors will write up a member for sneezing sideways. They perform investigations not based on complaints, but to find something (witch hunt) .Hell, half the time they don't even perform an investigation. Every member over there walks on eggshells in fear of being written up. They have two choices, keep your head low and take it when and as it comes, or take part in it and acquire rank. They believe, incorrectly, that by that going along with it and destroying other officer's careers they will be saved. What they fail to see is the big picture. TR has and is receiving kickbacks from G4S, a private jail contractor. Using these tactics he's already gotten them into transport, the control room, and visitation. As soon as he can show that the jail is a cluster of bad officers and the agency cannot adequately staff it he will propose that G4S take over. He creates the situation and then proposes the solution all while he lines his pockets. He manipulates the entire thing. Since most is done through flunkies, the sheriff included, he always has deniability. He will convince the Sheriff and the Sheriff will convince the county commissioners, which is the last hang-up in the plan. BP turns his head and looks away because TR will bring in the money needed for the next election. The idiots at the jail that are right now falling all over themselves to jam each other up will find themselves either out of a job, or working for G4S at a much lower pay. Command staff there will find themselves either with a road position, or in high paying admin positions with G4S. Take a close look at TR and you'll see his lifestyle far out paces his income. Then ask yourself how. Follow the money and you'll find the answer.

There's your corruption, real corruption. The sad thing is, is that you're a tool to. You screaming about corrupt jailers just supports his position and makes him richer. You're setting your sights way to low. Hell, maybe you are him.

In addition to the above. I spoke to someone high up with G4S a few years ago. He told me they would be taking over the jail and that they had someone high up in the CCSO in the pocket to assure it. It didn't take a lot of digging to figure out who.

I like the idea of body cameras with mics on command staff. I laughed so hard when I read that I nearly pissed myself. There are a few that are great people, but as one poster hinted to above there is something really wrong with the psychological makeup of the bunch that have come from the jail and those that have stayed at the jail. It's the strangest thing I've ever seen in law enforcement. They bicker and never seem to miss a chance to talk shit about one another when the other one is out of the room. Is that how you guys get along over there, by stabbing each other in the back? The self important attitude is of the scale. I've overheard one jail Captain talking shit at HQ not to long ago about road issues as if she where an expert. I wanted to shout, "Honey, you've never worked a day on the road. You have no idea what you're talking about. Here's your sign." Does the jail purposely promote incompetence? I read where one poster suggested it as TR's way of protecting his position from someone coming up that could do it better. I personally don't know the man, but after meeting him a few times I believe it. He smiles, remembers your name, and everything, but there's something really off. Call it my spidey sense, the man gives off a weird vibe. If what the poster stated a few posts back on this thread is accurate that would explain it. Again, another jailer. I'm starting to think body cameras on command staff again, what a great idea.
