Videos from other agencies
Scroll down and look at the captains and the videos under each caption:

The funnies two are:
"The officer 'escorted [the suspect] to the floor.'"
and:
"A physical altercation ensued."

Public disclosure of those videos is obviously bad for law enforcement (overall). However, in an era where everything is now being recorded, it is more important than ever that the words we put in our reports MUST match-up with what a video shows. Like when the officer wrote that he "escorted" the female prisoner to the floor. Did he really do that? Or did he "slam" her down to the ground? Before videos were invented, yes, he escorted her down to the ground, but now that everything is being recorded, the public sees him "slamming" her to the ground. Two other things are very interesting:
1. MERCURI0 explained to us in in-service training that he manipulates "words" to either mitigate a situation or to make an officer more culpable (depending on what the direction that sheriff wants it to go).
2. Knight's refusal to equip us with bodycams speaks volumes.
Nuff said.

Sorry bubba, but you're wrong on this one and Knight is Right about not allowing us to be videotaped while we're on-duty. Do you seriously want a f****** body camera monitoring your every word and your every action with citizens? No f****** way! Keep the f****** cameras away from us. "Knight is Right" on this one. You're a freaking jackass if you can't understand that.

Knight is wrong. Period. From day one, many of us have wanted a bodycams. I'd be delighted to be recorded with every single citizen-contact that I make throughout my shift. I have absolutely nothing to hide (unlike Knight) and I have everything to gain by being recorded. Recordings squash false citizen complaints. Recordings stop threats of lawsuits dead in their tracks (just go and look at the recording for proof). Knight's hatred of bodycams is totally bizarre. Period.

We've put up with it for years. Look at how we covered for Steve Burns -- and he made it to retirement. And how about Ron Locke? Knight REFUSED to investigate him for getting a juvy pregnant. But then again, Tom Knight was investigated for drinking too much at a bar and then getting arrested for getting in a sloppy fight, resulting in his arrest for disorderly conduct. Even Knight's brother (url=http://i47.tinypic.com/rlazhv.png]Chris Knight[/url]) was arrested for domestic battery. And how about John Walsh on the 2nd floor? Nothing has changed here.
