Aside from McFee, the new executive staff is inferior to the ones who got forced out. Simovich and Halle each admitted at readoffs that they knew virtually nothing about the jail when they were placed in charge. Then why kick out the ones who knew their stuff and appoint the ones who know nothing? Because promotions are based on politics not ability and background. Gualtieri's statement that there is no good old boy system in an outright lie.
Promotions are based on politics and Gualteri has mastered the lie game. Example :, reporter ask if Simovich is double dipping, answer no because he is not collecting another pension. This we know is a lie because this is the tactic Gualteri used against Rice.

Gualtieri had billboards all over town badmouthing Rice as a double-dipper. Since then he has re-hired and facilitated double-dippers. Coats, Simovich, Brunner, etc. Gualtieri created a colonel position for the jail and filled it with his buddy who doesn't know a damn thing about running the jail. What a waste of money. And a gaggle of chief deputies and assistants. Brunner is back as a highly paid jail consultant (yet another double-dipper). Wonder how much these guys donated to Gualtieri's campaign PAC?

Again, your making a political play that will hurt far more deps than executive staff types. A lot more deps are gonna need to work again after they retire. Not sure you are doing anybody any favors by stirring this pot.

Big difference between political hacks like Coats, Simovich, Brunner, etc. who max out their pensions in offices, complete the DROP, are hired back, and the average deputy who works a few years in the DROP and retires. The first one is blatant political corruption. The second one is morally and ethically correct and doesn't cost the FRS or the taxpayer a single extra dollar. Glad that the media jumped on Gualtieri's political corruption and lies about the good old boy system he is a part of and sustains. If anything the media did not go far enough because it does not have the right info - yet. All this corruption will come out in more detail when Gualtieri campaigns for political office again.

Who is this Chief Simovich everyone keeps talking about? I think he is in one of those no-show jobs like you hear about on the Sopranos. Never seen the man on a call or a stop. Never heard him on the radio once. I have seen the other chief on some calls but all he does is tell everyone what to do and look angry. I hear there is another chief but I wouldnt know who he was if he ran into me. Whats the point of all of these chiefs?
