    Forced over

this is the result of having an understaffed department and force overs.

    Why are officers leaving

this resulted because of an understaffed department needing to force over officers. They are denied time off because there is no personnel to work the road. Officers don't get any sleep!

    Understaffed and overworked!!

No personnel = abuse and officers forced over to work doubles.
No personnel = little if any time off for officers = lack of concentration and sleep

Overworked and Underpaid... still no excuse for the poor judgement this officer made. Facts are in paper, he arrived home after a long midnight shift and forgot to take out his dogs out of the car, something hes been doing for the past 7 years. How did he forget? Who knows? but it's a horrible mistake and a very bad tragic accident and he should pay for it. Either be charged with animal cruelty or lose his title as K9 officer. One or the other he needs to pay for that mistake. What would have been the outcome if he would have forgotten his kids in the vehicle and not his dogs?

Hialeah Police is know to be good at covering up for officer's mistakes, This won't be one of them as many in the news media and animal advocates are watching very closely. Good luck!

People don't lose sleep or get a lack of concentration by being underpaid. Underpaid is not the issue here. Overworked is the issue. Officers drive home nearly falling asleep at the wheel while driving home after working a double.

    But wait....

Zogby explained it all....."he has a very nice house in davie". Wtf does that have to do with anything? How do you forget 2 dogs in the vehicle? He's been doing this for how long?

But yet he has a big house, big yard with a nice pool and a few nice vehicles... and loves in butt fk egypt... all that cost money and less sleep. If you lived in hialeah in a decent looking house not a mansion then maybe you didn't have to kill itself working... y pon la mujer trabajar tambien acere. He was irresponsible and used poor judgement leave the excuses for another topic.

    Wink

His brothers and sisters in blue will defend him and care for him through this tough time. You really think hialeah police care about their dogs??? Zogby can't even admit those dogs are considered law enforcement certified officers. And that they where murdered by the negligence of this officer. I agree with the post above. He was irresponsible and used poor judgement and I don't care what anyone else thinks. He fked up and that's why now he's depressed because he knows he did wrong. I bet he didn't forget that morning to give his kids a kiss before bed or a good-bye to his wife or better yet he didn't forget his cell phone in the car. Right? This officer is not a K9 rookie he's a 7 year veteran. Hialeah Police will throw this under the rug, but let me tell you this is not to 90's the power of social media will make this story bigger than what it is now and there be a finding and an arrest soon. CNN is already on this story wait for that call and the investigative reporters will come knocking soon. I know law enforcement doesn't like the news media because they investigate the corrupt garbage that's there. Good luck!

The law enforcement brotherhood needs to stop protecting the bad apples that's why many in the public don't trust or support you anymore. I support law enforcement, but this man needs to face the consequences and resign/shred the state certification your K9 days are over.
