So how do you get promoted when you have only worked days in GB? So now we have another Sgt that has never been a supervisor and not going to be supervising anyone but his camera and Facebook. Anyway just don't get it...

I also didn't think we promoted in place...guess this is only when it's specific people that need to fit into the agenda.

That's funny!! I was surprised at both the Sgt selections. Hell I know I won't be running the pt course ever again. Gonna take my time and walk that shits from now on. At least one good thing... Since the pio isn't supervising anyone he can't test for Lt. probably just give it to him anyway when they promote the next capt jeez I wonder who that might be. Why is everyone acting so surprised? This is how things are done around here. Don't promote in place, that is almost laughable. There is a certain Sgt. in the 53 unit that spent a minute and a half on the road and went straight back. There is a Sgt. that got promoted then "temporarily" got reassigned to K-9 then got put over the unit. Like no one saw that coming. Let me say it "there was a fair evaluation process for the selection of the K-9/Traffic Sgt. position." This is not an attack on the individuals, this is a commentary on how F'ed up this place is. More power to those that got put back in a specialized unit. Who wouldn't take that opportunity? One of those promotions is going to turn out to be another JK. A micromanaging Sgt. who believes they know everything and can't be told anything. That type of boss is very common around here, from the top to the bottom. There is a good amount of bosses around this place that are only worried about their next promotion. They don't care about anyone other than themselves. The truly sad thing is that the powers that be will sit around thinking everything is running smoothly. When they realize that morale is in the shitter they will scratch their heads and say how is this possible? We make such great decisions around here.

I will know translate this into how the admin will read my post.

SH was a seargent in the PIO position for years .maybe if if you got out from under your tree and actually did something productive you would be recognized.. Why do you stay if you hate it so much .. I'm going against my better judgment and my brothers request but I had to come on here and straighten some things out. I retired with a total of 19 years on the job. In my 14 years with SRCO the old timers will tell you I pretty much stayed to myself. If I had something to say to someone, I did it and moved on. I didn't hide behind a keyboard and bash someone who may one day save my life. Take a minute and think of that. The guys with military experience know what I'm talking about. Having to medically retire makes me feel cheated. I miss the job EVERY DAY. There are many times that I see a marked car and feel envious of that deputy. I was not ready to take the badge off.

I regularly get on here just to see what's going on. The way some of you talk about each other and constantly attack each other chaps my butt. Some of you act like third graders and not grown men and women. I know times are rough and moral is in the toilet but come on........ You guys should be standing together and united as one in today's time. Unfortunately it's gonna take one of you to get severely injured before you guys realize this. Stop the bickering and talking about each other. Think of who can read these posts. You don't have to like each other but don't let the community see or hear you complain about each other.

I volunteer with AHERO Foundation and also on my own to help wounded warriors. Rich and I do this on our own time. These warriors are perfect examples for you to see what it's like to be a teammate. I welcome any of you to come fish with and meet some of these special people. Learn what it's like to get along with each other. When I got hired by SRSO I got labeled, " standoffish and unapproachable " ( Thanks Quigg ). I didn't mind that because it allowed me to do my job. I did my job to the best of my abilities and went home.

Congratulations to everyone who got promoted. Watch each other's back, go home safely and do your best. If anyone feels the need to make a negative remark about me or my little brother, I encourage you to be man enough ( since you're wearing a badge ) and come see me. You know how to find me. I've only had one deputy visit me since I left. Think about my offer to come fish with us.

This isn't Rich it's his wife..their I said it..you guys have no respect for each other or the badge you wear. Everything he does is for you guys, how he can help raise morale, get you guys exposure. Everything he does is for the agency and you guys not for himself. You talk about how he only worked in gulf breeze..blah blah blah..are you saying that made his job less dangerous or insignificant ...I don't think so..he puts his uniform on the same way everyone else does..you are nice to his face when it's convenient for you and the knife is out as soon as he turns his back. Get to know someone before you judge..My husband has NEVER said anything negative about any of you guys ..he always finds the good in people..you guys want to call that kissing ass, good ole boys, whatever ..I call in professionalism, Integrity, loyal...

Rich is a good guy but whenever anyone leaves the road work in admin they become corrupted. You can thank the upper admin. You see most of the older admin worked under different sheriffs. Some are still here and some are gone. Most never worked the road but think they know more about how to do the job, making them more ignorant than some of the idiots posting on here. They develop that "us vs them" mentality. Those same people were supposed to have been given the boot when Wendell took office. That was false. A lie. They all got promoted to even more power. This agency has been jacked up because of those incompetent idiots. As they leave the agency through retirement with big dollars and never breaking a sweat from never dealing with the dumbassery that we do, they train their replacements so their legacy of shenanigans can live one. Rich will be one of those guys who will sit and have ample time to review and destroy the split second decisions made by the roadies. He will sit in on private discussions and go after those who piss off the Sheriff's cronies. Got a deputy who needs to be gone all because someone "suspects him" of doing something but has no proof? Rich will fall into that. Sad buy true . Already have we seen good guys like certain captains turn against the deputies to please the high command. So Mrs Aloy, if you think the morale is bad, you are correct. If you think the deputies have the power to change that..you mistaken. Wendell and his bunch do not care about anyone but themselves. Well..that's your opinion..I know my husband better than any of you and he is at the agency simply because he wants to be there...you obviously know nothing personal about him or you would know he does not get influenced easily..I personally invite you over for dinner and maybe if you got to know him on a more personal level your OPINION would be much different..don't confuse him being a nice guy with being stupid, because I assure you that's not the case. You are married to him, so you see a different side. A personal level is far different than a professional one. That being said I never thought that people like his buddies in the admin, BJ and CW would screw over people like they do. I knew them long before I knew Rich. But once you get the taste of blood and get influences by them, it happens. You may never see it because you only see the personal side. Rich is indeed a good guy and a good road deputy. Nothing but respect for him, but those that use to work with him on the will grow a perception if distrust because they cant trust the admin. PERCEPTION is what our great sheriff is about...it filters down to everyone and eventually to Rich. At least Rich wouldn't likely end up like the prior PIO. Chasing girls, odb, looking at porn on duty. If you are the kind of wife I think you are, don't let him get lured into that double standard pos admin's crap.
