What the hell? IUPA time is HERE

Seriously. Michael Mann was allowed to resign, pocketing a huge sum of cash, to leave our 4Officers to fend for themselves.

There's a post and several news articles, rags or not, with the FOP and other unions lambasting their respective 'Top Cops' while openly defending Officers.

We have the Vice President of our union inside, and not a peep. The PBA allows Michael Mann to retire with an active investigation into Officer's actions. It would appear out officer's did NOTHING criminal or against policy. But Michael Mann runs away anyway, after ignoring the situation, then denying the situation, then claiming HIPPA and not releasing anything?

So once again, we on the front lines get the shit end of the stick whilst the #1 in charge literally gets paid off to leave? He came from FDLE, as he said over and over again, Creek is the sticks compared to where he came from. FDLE is THE premier law enforcement agency in the state.

Chaz was right. Michael is a Mann-child.

And where was our 'Union' to stand up for our Officers? Where is the union VP, the press conference, the denouncing of a Chief that runs away instead of standing up, backing us up?

Why do we put up with the PBA picking and choosing who to protect and who to not? Especially when Michael Mann is not a member. But the VP of OUR Union protected him the most. Awesome.
Mann leaves with one bag (of cash), we are left holding the rest.

Now that you KNOW there will be an election. The time to drop the PBA is now. www.bsodle6020.orglook on the left side of the screen, print out application and PBA dues deduction cancellation form. It's that easy !!!

Sorry but u got it all wrong. Chief Mann stood up for the Officers and refused to put them on restricted duty because in his words he felt they did nothing wrong. He didnt run away he was forced out by the City Manager. He told the press there was no cover up because there isn't. The facts are going to prove he was right as soon as the ME teport comes out. Just because you can print lies in a blog dosent make it true. Sorry for ruining your thread with the facts and truth.

I'm one of the officers and it's true Mann had our back, but he was in a no win situation with the city manager. The PBA needs to go, we need support and representation. This desk duty is ridiculous. The PBA Vice President is a bloated waste of space.

Rush, Eisenring and Freeman are not that stupid to post about this event on here. So, horrible try, but no, you are not one of them.
How did Mann have your back? By protecting himself. By being the ONLY cop in Taser? By putting a novice PIO in front of a camera, who got frustrated with ONE reporter 2 minutes in? By withholding the event all together for 4 days, then not getting ahead of it, leaving those 3 with millions of questions which the PBA did not help with.

Your lies are only perpetuating what we are saying. These are good cops. Every one of them. Michael Mann never cared about them or us; only himself. THAT is the truth.

Michael Mann DID NOT stand up for his officers until it was too late. (Fact) Then as the snowball got bigger, he left. (Fact)
He loved to taunt his FDLE credentials, then when it comes to this, he hides until he is forced to acknowledge it, then leaves.
I'm not sorry, but you have it all wrong.

Putting someone on restrictive duty does not constitute any wrong-doing. Per our contract, etc... it says so.
But Mann had the Officer's best interest in mind, he should have put them inside just for their protection, or possibly just so they can have a few days off the road. Since it was such a stressful time, maybe think about, talk about, debrief, and let them maybe contact a counselor or church. THAT would be backing them up. Thinking about their families and what they are going through along with the guys.

Send them home, paid leave, and let them chill out. The death was unintentional. But who knows what is going on inside their heads? Only they do. THAT would be having their backs. But Michael Mann chose to ignore it until he was forced to talk about it. So I would imagine he treated the Officers and their feelings the same way. So go **** yourself. And start thinking of others when you're done. I crushed you.

You obviously haven't been here too long if you say Chief Mann did not have our backs.

Back 5 years ago T Mobile shooting, Chief Mann watches the video of Sgt Harrison being run over by 3 fleeing felons. He decides he is not sending the case to the grand jury because he sees no need to put his officers through that because he feels it is an absolutely justifiable shooting. He had those officers backs and the rest is history, 3 habitual offenders in jail for the next 20 years. Did he catch heat for his decision? would it have been the easy way out to send the shooting to the State Attorneys Office ?.yes but he backed us because apparently he felt it was the right thing to do.

Sgt Cuddeback gets locked up in Michigan for DUI, could he have fired him,? Answer, absolutely but because of his years on the job he sends him to rehab for a second chance. Unfortunately we all know how that story ended, but again he backed one of his officers.

Officers complain about the summer heat, he allows us to wear shorts in the summer, no previous CCPD Chief would have done that.

Then a few years later he orders us all new uniforms because they can help keep us cooler.

Chief Mann pumped a ton of money into our aging gym for the benifit of us.

He has allowed numerous officer to modify their shifts to accommodate crisis in their lives, because it was the right thing to do and he had our backs.

He ordered AR rifles for everyone on the department who wanted one, again citing officer safety, because he had our backs.

Before he was discarded like crap by a clueless City Manager he ordered bigger police vehicles for our officer (Explorers) citing officer safety to the city. In our Butterfly "green" city he made his case which was extremely difficult but he did it because he had our backs.

He refused to let the papers brand our officer in as being taser killers, by saying he felt they did notihing wrong. It is now common knowledge he wanted to get in front of this story from day one but the Chief was shut down by a City Manager who ordered that he not speak to the press. Then after she created the aura of cover up by not doing what Chief Mann wanted to do in the first place, see asked him to resign to cover up her chain of screw ups. As soon as the Chief was gone she ordered everyone in the taser incident be put on restricted duty. They did nothing wrong yet they are made to look like they did so the City Manager can look like she is doing something. Another rush to judgement instead of waiting for the facts to be revealed.

I just threw out a few examples on how the Chief has always been there for the rank and file, there are many more. The Chief didn't run away he was forced to leave by someone he was loyal to, who betrayed him at the first sign that we are no longer the sleepy little town she wants it to be. Chief Mann will be proved right just like he was in the T Mobole shooting, the officers did nothing wrong. The Chief cared about the troops and people in general, just ask Commisioners Tooley. The City did Chief Mann wrong.

There are people who did not like the Chief like Semper Paratus but my guess he is nothing more the a slimmy slug. The ones who dislike the Chief the most are the malcontents that want it to back the way it was before, good ole boys, and a lack of professionalism. Unfortunately for them Chief Mann changed that but again unfortunately he put his faith in a training division who failed. For that faith he was asked to leave.

Chief Mann always had our backs and because of that he was asked to leave.. The City Manager hasn't done the smart thing and made Lees Chief. The City Manager feels she is qualified to run the police department

How do you feel now? Do you think the City Manager had your back?????
The City Managers rush to judgement has cost us a great Chief. Let's hope the Commisioners can talk some sense into the delusional City Manager Mary Blaise and appoint Lees Chief of police.

It's probably best to get rid of the city manager. The police department should be run by the police chief.
