Bus Terminal and Homeless Idea

It's sad to see that Ft Lauderdale PD is getting hammered over the video and interviews with people who claim they know all about the officer who is accused of mishandling the homeless at his detail.

But I have an idea that if the county and City follow, maybe we can all sing kumbayah:

Let's build another bus terminal. Have one for hard working sober, drug free and I have a home type people. The police can work at and protect this terminal.

The second terminal can be for the homeless, drug influenced people who don't want to blend into society. In fact, a homeless camp with no police, no rules etc should be built right along side the 2nd terminal. Since this will be for homeless, some who have no jobs, why we should allow them free bus rides wherever they want to go. Again, no rules etc. and no police working there, so no more cops taint the badge of thousands who work hard to keep law and order and to protect people. This isn't saying that Off Ramirez is guilty nor is this just sarcasm as to the problems his incident has recreated, but lets laugh at it and realize when will Americans find solutions for homeless, society not OBEYING laws, etc...

Serious note the one stop shop across the street needs their liquor and beer license pulled.

I don't see why it is the city's redponsability to care for every single homeless in the city. If they lived in the city and became homeless for whatever reason then yes help them out with shelter and services. If they are from out of town give them one night to rest and a meal in the morning then send them on their way.

Also knock down the court jail and build it in the swamp . Use the property for real estate and build a small holding facility for anyone going to court for the day. On release bus them to the city they live or were arrested or the county line if they don't live in broward

There should be moneys set aside in the budget to purchase one-way bus tickets to Key West and send the homeless to better weather.
Once in Key West, you won’t be able to tell hem apart from the locals and they will live happily ever after!
A very cost-effective way of dealing with this problem; if you can solve the problem; displace it.

Are will really surprised here? The fact is at the Fort Lauderdale Police department is having very serious issues. Just look at how many officers in just the last three years have been arrested, fired, indicted, about to be indicted, sex crimes, involved in abuse of citizens (more than a slap), and racism. The city Manager has his eyes closed, The Mayor thinks he is a TV star. Just because we have a black Chief not all is well. They need a new Chief and new leadership. The city commission needs to wake up and stop hiding behind all these issues and replace the city manager and the Police chief and start a whole new process here.

Agreed. To much of the good old boy system. Command staff protects and promotes the golden children who end up feeling untouchable

This is all bullshit ! If these were negro cops, saying stuff about whitey, saying Honky, or Cracker, you can BET NOTHING would have happened, count on that ! But because these white guys and Alvarez the "beaner" ha ha said ******, now they get fired ???

Come on now, be honest, how many of our black cops call each other the N word all the time eh ? Yea, I rest my case, discipline them ok, but do not fire them, fire the chief, and the mayor before them. What an outfit we work for, it's actually a racist place against white guys these days obviously, so pathetic !

Yea plane rides, chased by his wife with a gun for (oh yea cant say here) and texting on his phone in meetings with officers. What a role model . Oh I left out he was awarded the only chief to get the most officers arrested in two years.
