City council candidate Lisa Wheeler-Brown (alias Letisha Tanniele Wheeler) has a lot in common with Kurt Donley.

Kurt, formerly the voice of the disgraced, disbanded and now defunct nonprofit organization NAACP-St. Pete is now blow-holing for another nonprofit org, Southern Christian Leadership Conference of Pinellas. (Wouldn't it be a shame if SCLC-Pinellas goes down in flames for not registering as nonprofit with the Fl Div of Corporations and IRS? No record found.)

Kurt's old outfit NAACP-St Pete gave Lisa the "social justice" award. Kurt's new outfit SCLC-Pinellas named Lisa their drum major for justice. It's fitting that SCLC is making a comeback in south St. Pete. Too bad SCLC's national chairman was imprisoned for misusing nonprofit funds to enrich himself.

Both crimes were misdemeanors. At 22, Wheeler-Brown stole a pair of shoes for her 3-year-old son. At 29, she wrote a bad check to cover a car payment on a vehicle that was about to be repossessed, she said. Those were missteps, she said, but she owned up to it and paid the fines and court costs. [No you didn't, you got hauled into court again for nonpayment.]
