Wink 2003 and 2014 Votes of No Confidence Against Chief Radzilowski = Resign

Okay folks read this article from 2003 where we had almost an identical PBA Survey result on Chief Razz, oh yeah Merriman or Davis were not Deputy Chief then so don't blame them, but BLAME THE CHIEF! He can try to shift blame but nothing has changed in how runs this place, history doesn't lie....Time for the Chief to Resign while he still has some grace!

He called the survey "a game" this guy dismisses everything as either a ploy or game, he has not and will not accept responsibility for not running a Police Department like it should be ran!

Most of the city's police are disgruntled and lack confidence in the agency's leadership, said a union survey released Tuesday.

The survey was sent on June 4 to the 89 Bradenton police officers who belong to the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Police Benevolent Association. All hold the rank of sergeant or lower.

Forty-nine - about 55 percent - filled out and returned the survey. The department has 109 officers.

"Basically, what we have is a majority who feel there is a lack of support from leadership," said union president **** McHale, who works for the Sarasota Police Department.

Based on the respondents' answers, 98 percent felt their salary is fair or poor, 87.8 percent thought morale is low or very low, 81.6 percent felt they couldn't file grievances without repercussions from management and 83.7 percent said they lacked confidence in leadership.

Chief Radzilowski dismissed the survey as a union ploy to gain leverage in ongoing contract negotiations.

    "It's a game," Radzilowski said.

He also said that "anyone can gear any survey to reflect what they want ... You just don't know who responded."

Radzilowski, who wasn't aware of the survey until he was interviewed Tuesday, said morale at the department shifts day to day.

"Some days we're high; some days we're low," he said.

One officer, however, agreed with many of the survey's findings. "Morale is very low," the officer said, who requested anonymity for fear of retribution. "It's their way or no way."

Radzilowski quickly restructured much of the department soon after he took over the agency last December. He assigned officers to zones and emphasized developing relationships with community members, especially in east Bradenton, where there have been a number of high profile and unsolved murders and shootings this year.

One of his first moves as chief was to open a community workstation at the Avondale Estates Apartment complex on the east side to increase police visibility in that area.

McHale conceded that some of the issues officers raised were holdovers from Radzilowski's predecessor, former Chief Al Hogle. Hogle left Bradenton to become chief of police of Longboat Key.

Still, McHale said, many of the problems come from what he described as Radzilowski's stern approach.

"If you do it with 'It's his way or the highway,' this is the end result," McHale said.

Glad Merriman is gone! This place has improved dramatically since he left.

Also can't wait to see how much better it will get when the Chief leaves. Things can only get better.

Chief Razz started selling his blood after about three years unfortunately and now is a Million pint donor with a license plate to prove it.

Yep, as the story said we did not like Hogle's changes and then came this outsider Raz. Nobody likes change.
Looking back now a lot of the changes were good for this place and I will be sorry when the Raz leaves.

But we all know this all comes from WTM who is trying to stir the pot so we won't think about his alleged criminal activity.
So I guess WTM wants us to get the Raz to resign so he can have his revenge for MSO and the State saying his is a criminal.

    Won't work WTM!!!

Exactly. You can't blame Merriman for everything. I hope he is convicted as charged, but Razz still needs to go.

Wow it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that WE ALL know that Chief Razz is the real reason why this place sucks to work at, I didn't read any charges about WTM charged with Harassment or Retaliation towards anyone, his crap was off-duty stuff not saying he was right by no means and he doesn't deserve to be here! The Chief can keep deflecting from his own incompetence, but 2 surveys don't lie, he is just lucky as hell the Mayor is the only one that can fire his arse, because he doesn't have the Council's support! Wait until the next Mayor election Poston can then deal with keeping Razz on way too long! This is when our PBA should be asking the Mayor to do his job if he wants our support in 2016!
