Supervisors with no ba%$#
Why is it when a call goes out at night at Bristol Bay Apts for a domestic where an ex breaks into the females apt and the female barricades herself in her bedroom with a dresser against the door and there are known weapons in the house, the officers dispatched have to be questioned by a supervisor as to why they were 10-18 to the call. It was nice to hear dispatch back the officers up saying it was necessary as they were still landline with the female. Why are police officers that protecting the public having to defend themselves from supervisors that are scared to use lights and sirens. Grow a pair or leave!!!! Don't forget, the public is listening to us on scanners. That supervisor needs to be disciplined.

Wow, I wasn't working, so I have to ask: Did the Dispatcher advise the Supervisor of the circumstances of the call when the units were dispatched? It might have avoided the other radio traffic if the supervisor knew.

So while running 10-18, we have to listen to the updates from dispatch as they were still on the phone with the caller, call our supervisor and get permission all while driving. We have cars, a badge, handcuffs and a gun but we cant make a decision to use our lights and siren.

Sounds like some people don't live to be questioned. Better grow up. You will have a Boss until you retire. Just do you're job and don't sweat it.
