All I got out of this article: http://theweeklychallenger.com/repai...mmunity-forum/
was that the rest of the community acknowledges that the problems starts in the families, and the way people approach police, and that it needs to change. You managed to quote the one crazy Uhuru quote about their stupid occupation nonsense.

The PBA announced in the paper that they strongly support the chief. In fact the word "LOVE" was used. That's quite a commitment of trust. If the boss is all that, can someone tell me why we should continue paying union dues? especially now that the PBA thinks the chief has our best interests in mind?

Backroom deals revealed
Great big gigantic kudos to the mystery persons who spilled the beans to interested parties. The worms have been crop dusted.
Bingo, we have a winner! ^
Didn't take long.

As an outsider to SPPD myself, keep in mind the rest of the county thinks your agency is trying to secede from Pinellas and state jurisdiction. Tsk tsk for trying to "reduce crime" by jiggering the process. Feel for you guys that know better.

"Kanika Tomalin said that youth 'who need love rather than lockup' is one of Kriseman’s biggest priorities, and he’s looking for a new police chief who will support that vision."

"The city is now just weeks from implementing a new system designed to steer hundreds of young people away from the criminal justice system."
PEANUT GALLERY - Kameel, is this a misprint or was somebody fibbin you? Chief H's vaca plans seem to have interefered with the deadline. Plus it was a half baked concept from the get go so therefore, no can do.
"This is a different program than we've ever done," said Karl Nurse.
PEANUT GALLERY - You got that right but #nothappening.

Adding to what fragrantUntruths said earlier, in the Kameel Stanley piece the number of youths going into SPPD's extralegal plan for early Jan 2015 was stated to be 500. Fortunately with outside oversight that dangerous plan will almost certainly be stopped dead in its tracks. Dangerous yes...it's like a highway billboard directing all juveniles in the County to do their crimes in St. Petersburg where the rules are different. A reality check is on the way with the probability of even more outside scrutiny of SPPD ops in this and other areas. The overinflated 500 figure is more like 50 when SPPD admin is brought to heel.
