The problem the unintelligible ranter and those of his ilk have with Chief Hernan Organvidez is that Organvidez expects police officers to do their job as the vocation demands of them. Do not and people die or are gravely harmed. Carlos Alvarez should not be a metric for judging Organvidez, he put a lot of dedicated, knowledgeable and even previously loyal sworn personnel out on the fringe; only to surround himself with toadies who astutely complimented the “naked emperor.” A practice that ultimately led to Alvarez’ political demise.

Strong leaders demand personnel under their command to execute their duties diligently, efficiently and effectively. They expect personnel to hold themselves accountable for their actions first and foremost, as it be should among mature adult men and women, who once swore to uphold the Laws of the State of Florida, The United States of America and to serve and protect their fellow citizens.

Organvidez’ critics and supporters will come on this forum deriding and commending the man; it will be up to each of you Doral police and civilian personnel to give the man an objective assessment as he he leads and manages your department. A person I trust and whose opinion I value told that once, while Organvidez was Hammocks District Major, he called on Organvidez to resolve an important issue; true to his character, Organvidez responded as a police district commander ought, with diligence. That is precisely what he will expect of you. Fear not, do your job as you have been trained, with the knowledge and experience you have acquired over your years in policing and there will be nothing to fear. Best to be led by a Chief that stays on the straight and narrow path, than a snake who meanders in and out of it.

Or is it more personal? Did a young lady whom you were sweet on chose Organvidez over you? Or is it more base, like resentment? Envy that Organvidez successfully rose through the civil service ranks of sergeant, lieutenant and captain and was later appointed to Major and Division Chief?
