Destroying county property? that's the least of his worries.

Is this really an issue? What do you do with the seized ammunition? what do you do with seized drugs after trial. Old outdated computer parts? What do you do with them? Old hand guns either turned into BSO or confiscated? It all gets destroyed. You may have a story here but only if you can find out what was on those hard drives that made him want them destroyed. That's the real story.

Seized ammunition.....are you drunk? No one is going to buy that bullshit. Think about how many times Lamberti got on tv and talked about tarnishing the badge and all that before an accused deputy had their first day in court. Imagine if a deputy destroyed his computer hard drive with a hammer in the wake of a major investigation such as Rothstein. He would've driven the bus over the deputy. This is bothersome.

A Deputy does not have the authority to transfer his hard drive or destroy evidence or equipment deemed surplus and not useable. The sheriff of Broward Co. does, that is the difference. I'm not arguing that Lamberti is not a dirty dog, I'm just saying what we know happened and what we can prove happened are two different things.

No one has authority to destroy evidence in a pending investigation. They even wrote a law about it.
