Gagnon acquitted

Former Manatee High School principal and assistant superintendent Bob Gagnon has been acquitted of both charges against him, ending his legal troubles in a sudden and stunning move that also could signal good outcomes for his two co-defendants.

“Not one of those incidents gives rise to the statutory definition of child abuse,” Dubensky said.

On Tuesday, Judge Peter Dubensky acquitted Robert Gagnon of the charges against him.

"No reasonable person could believe that abuse is taking place,” said Dubensky.

That's because we have no integrity. We don't care that "No reasonable person could believe that abuse is taking place” and “Not one of those incidents gives rise to the statutory definition of child abuse”. Only real cops worry about things like that.

I think that D1 forgets that it is up to the SAO to ensure that there is sufficient evidence to proceed with the prosecution. If the case was weak then it should have been sent back to the detectives and investigated further. that is the way it worked years ago. Look at both sides of the investigation before you throw stones. Might want to work a case like this to see what it is like and what you would have done.

SAO made the decision like they do in every case. We can only report the facts. The investigation was fine.
