Does Tom Knight have the authority to write a general order that prohibits us from investing in legalized medical marijuana? An earlier article reported that former DEA agents quit the DEA so they could invest in pot production.

The G.O. mentions a requirement to get permission for off-duty employment, but there is nothing (currently) in the G.O. that prohibits SSO employees from investing in legal drugs, to include legalized medicinal pot. Besides, Knight will never know if you're investing in a company. He doesn't have access to those kinds of private records -- and it's none of his damn business, as long as it's legal.

    • There is another vote coming this November concerning legalization of medical marijuana (smokeable) with a physicians prescription. That one will become legal in November, if Florida's voters approve of it.[/*:m:2u3mcy8x]

Since you have a state certification, simply wait untill November when Florida's voters legalize it. Its better to be safe than sorry.

Mr. Knight told the Tiger Bay club that legalization of medical pot will cause property values to drop. So then Cannabis-Rx pays a premium price ($1.26 million) for property adjacent to the Sarasota airport. And Cannabis-RX is expecting to develop the biggest grow house in the United States in Knight's backyard. It's hilarious.
