The Citizens Deserve a Better Sheriff

It is time for someone to step up and run for sheriff. It is time for someone, who has no ties to this agency, to take over and clean house.

The below article is from the St. Pete Times. How was this Office able to keep this so quiet for so long?

    http://www.tampabay.com/news/publics...d-rage/2176945

Why did the deputies ask, and then stand there while a witness deleted this incident on video?

Why was not this deputy charged with the felony?

Why wasn't this deputy fired? Why did not this Office file paperwork with the state to without the deputies pension?

This Office is ran on who you know. Cleary this deputy knew someone. Cleary Sheriff Gee and Deputy Chief Docobo run this Office as a political unit. Cleary this Office does show favoritism not only to some within the Office, but those outside as well.

The Sheriff's Office must be run as a neutral law enforcement agency. You have to let the chips fall where they may no matter how much we may not like the out come.

The time has come for Sheriff Gee to step down and for Deputy Chief Docobo to leave. It is clearly time for some new blood, from the outside, to bring this agency to the forefront of law enforcement.

I am praying that the Tampa Bay Times will follow up on this news and continue to ask the question "why".

    AJ,

I think the answer is more than just politically protecting the image of the Office and the Sheriff. In the article it mentioned Pettis having involvement in some 28 cases that are pending with the SAO. I think part of your answer lies there.

To be certain our Office has its own propaganda machine run from Community Outreach and our Public Information Office. We control the media and its feed, the majority of the time. I ask you, why was this same story not printed in the Tampa Tribune or on a local investigative news cast? The Tampa Tribune likes its relationship with the Office and rarely if ever publishes anything that might be negative to the Office.

Every move that is made in the Office factors in public perception and how it will impact those in power. Absolute control is the name of the game. If you think it is bad now, just watch and wait. The cards lining up for the next regime will have mega-money and power to boot. It is quite frankly scary and a breeding ground for corruption. Two people need to go and I think you already covered that AJ.

Wow! The boy sheriff and his handler Docobo have a case of situational ethics here, and do so frequently. Everybody knows that Docobo runs the office and promotes his clones. Pettis should have been charged pure and simple, maybe he has PTSD from being a deputy (lol) but he should have been charged. His investigative work and testimony in pending cases should not be harmed by his arrest. They are separate and apart except for the PR concerns of the boy Sheriff and his a$$ handler. Gee son, you have let Docobo run too long, and he is besmirching the office and your legacy. Wake up dude!

    AJ,

You need to learn how things are done now, because clearly you don't know. HCSO direct filed charges of Agg Assault and Simply Battery to the SAO. The SAO, like they do on almost every other case, dropped the agg assault and went forward on simple battery. This happens to every "regular citizen" case, they just don't care. They make a big deal of it when it is a deputy.

What else do you want Gee and Docobo to do? The guy retired, it's done and over with. There are plenty of leadership flaws and current issues at HCSO that you could use to smear them, but not this incident. The fact that Hollis came out to investigate what a regular patrol deputy would normally investigate shows you they took this incident seriously. This is old news.

The Detective is innocent. Don't believe what you read.

The TampaBay Slimed reported that the Detectives Facebook was full of negative things about Obama.
There is a reason for that. Obama Sucks. Worst president ever and a Race Divider.

This is FAR from being old news, as it directly reflects the extent that Gee & Docobo will go to cover themselves politically. Gee, Docobo and the rest of their administration of self proclaimed "Company Men" are so damn CORRUPT they make Chicago look like Mayberry when it comes to a history of corruption and crooked politics. It's true, Gee has had a long standing issue of receiving preferential treatment and protection from the local media, to include the Tampa Tribune. If most citizens and even most deputies at HCSO knew the enormous amount of incidents that have been intentionally shoved under the rug by the Gee Administration, there would be a public outcry and more then likely, a Federal corruption investigation initiated.

Avoiding the media doesn't mean the situation was shoved under the rug. Charges were filed against the detective in this incident and the SAO dropped the charges. Your anger and frustration (which is funny because it has nothing to do with anyone but the victim and the detective) should be directed to the SAO. You act like Gee and Docobo sat up in their castle and formulated some plan to deceive the public. They remained low-key and the investigation resulted in charges being filed.

This site is turning from disgruntled cops into conspiracy theorists. It's getting ridiculous to read.
