    Interesting People First job posting...

I check People First on a regular basis, to see what's out there. On March 26th DOC had a posting in Lee County for a probation and parole trainee. The closing date was the 26th, meaning the posting was up for only one maybe two days. This doesn't seem normal, but then again what is around here...

Maybe they already had someone in mind and the posted it for a short period of time just so they could say they did?

Good luck getting that higher pay range.

The post is about the short period of time they left the announcement up.

Honestly, I can think of a number of reasons why it showed up and then disappeared. Some good and some "Conspiracy Theory". One of DC's many complaints against me was 'Paranoid'.

I am signed up for People First Alerts and I get the Certified PO listing alerts in Circuit 20 (Lee). Therefore, it was very easy to give you the previous post. When you retire you can ask to have your CPO certification extended I believe by 3 years. It never crossed my mind coming back.

I hope somebody in the know in Lee can answer the question why the Announcement dissappeared. Chances are its going to be like the Malaysian Airliner.

First of all why would you become a CO if your qualified to be a CPO. CPO's are already equivalent to a SGT, CPSO's a LT and CPS's a Captain. When you become a CO and have a college degree, the first thing your LT will tell you is "you wont be here for long, P&P will pick you up". I was a CO for about 6 months before getting hired by P&P. I am not saying P&P is better, its just different . The job really has nothing to do with corrections. You closer to a Police Officer then a CO. Totally different world.
