    Prepared by: Criminal Justice Committee (CJ)

    The bill amends numerous statutes relating to the operations and duties of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (ABT), Bureau of Law Enforcement (BLE). The major substantive changes the bill makes include:

    Removal of the law enforcement arm of DBPR/ABT.
    Creation of Bureau of Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) within the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).
    Transfering of Beverage Law Investigative Mission to FDLE/ALE.
    Revising duties of remaining DBPR/ABT bureaus (Licensing and Auditing)
    Transferring sworn law enforcement personnel from DBPR/ABT to FDLE/ALE.
    Revising language relating to employment of sworn personnel by FDLE.

    If approved by the Governor, these provisions take effect July 1, 2014.

    Vote: Vote: Senate 36-0; House 119-0
    I have a better idea;
    How about transferring all you buffoons to the Girl Scouts of America and mandate that the KPI requiremenst be changed so as to require that each of you sell 1,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies per month to meet minimum standards. :devil:
    I am sure the Girl Scouts are like every other organization in Florida. They want the positions, not the people.

    Different times, different leaders, different scenarios. Back then you didn't have the admin at DBPR and ABT against you. YOUR agency offered you up for slaughter and stated it would have minimal impact on operations. Chew on that for a minute!
