Tenth officer involved shooting in St Pete this year with almost three months to go. Sure makes the risk worthwhile with that 2% raise. Perhaps if I were a detective and union leader I'd feel a little better about it.

Stop your whining and do your job. If you got in this to get rich you picked the wrong career. Maybe you need more money to pay off your gambling debts??? Keeping fantasy football entry fees wasn't enough???

No wonder you guys can't hire many quality people and lose hundreds to other local agencies. Are you in management at the police department or the local union?

Are these numbers unprecedented or average? Do large agencies like NYPD, LAPD,or Chicago PD have numbers like these?

St. Pete is not large. According to the powers to be we're a sleepy little southern city. I'm sure Chief Chuck will simply explain this away a little "uptick" (modern day stats buzzword)

That is until they want to adjust their salary. Then we are "progressive" "on the leading edge" "competitive" and anything else they can think of to justify another high dollar management slot. But when it comes to your pay, we're Mayberry and you should feel glad that you got 2%.

Not really we're one crime free city that definitely has job security especially when we're doing the job with half the officers.
