Re: Question about current Hiring
After interview then polygraph, psych, and medical. MGPD is expanding and now is a great time to be a part of the transition. Everyone will have their grips and you will read a lot of negative comments, but trust me things will be moving in the right direction. Come aboard and be a part of the new change.

Re: Question about current Hiring
Anyone get a phone call telling them to come in for the next step yet? This waiting game is terrible

Re: Question about current Hiring
I have quite a few random questions for any current MGPD officers:
What are your patrol shifts and rotations? 8hrs/10hrs/12hrs?
How often do you rotate to another shift? Is it by seniority with a shift bid that goes around?
Does every patrol officer get a take home patrol car? If so, when do you get it? After FTO or after probation?
What's the off duty situation? Is there enough to go around or do you need to know someone to get the hookup? Do you work off duty for the football games at the Sun life or at the casino?
Are there apartments in the area that offer a discount for courtesy officers?
Are advanced training classes generally approved or are there endless excuses as to why you are not approved to attend?
And, I know this is a broad question, but on a "normal day" how is the workload? ie., is there time for proactivity or are you normally running from call to call?
Any answers are greatly appreciated, and feel free to expound on other aspects of the agency. Thank you folks, and be safe.

Re: Question about current Hiring
If you want answers about the PD, why don't you call the PD or Human Resources.
