Staff worked hard and deserved their raises. Obviously you lazy officers did nothing to warrant and bonuses. All I ever see on this board is cops complaining about something as simple as doing your jobs. You have it a lot more fortunate than others.

First he takes ... the oath.
Now look at all he takes:
He takes... it in stride when people call him pig.
He takes... time to stop and talk to children.
He takes... your verbal abuse while giving you a ticket you really deserved.
He takes... on creeps you would be afraid to even look at.
He takes... time away from his family to keep you safe.
He takes... your injured child to the hospital.
He takes... the graveyard shift without complaint because it's
his turn.
He takes... his life into his hands daily.
He takes... you home when your car breaks down.
He takes... time to explain why both your headlights have to
work.
He takes... the job no one else wants--telling you a loved one
has died.
He takes ... criminals to jail.
He takes... in sights that would make you cry.
Sometimes he cries too, but he takes it anyway because
someone has to.
If he is lucky, he takes retirement.
He takes... memories to bed each night that you couldn't bear
for even one day.
Sometimes, he takes a bullet.
And yes, occasionally he may take a free cup of coffee.
Then one day he pays for all he has taken, and God takes
him.
Please remember that the "he" in all this represents all
police officers, both men and women who have served and
are serving our cities and their citizens we have all sworn to
protect.

And not paying for gas is one of the small privileges yes; we spend half our lives in that damn police car, responding to your cries for help. No one put a gun to our heads to be in this career, but we accepted this job under certain conditions and benefits. We agreed for X amount of pay, and X amount of benefits, we will put our lives at stake, we will run towards gunfire while people like you run away. We will be exposed to all the elements and scum of this community, all because we HAVE to...And for the past few years the City has renigged on that contract, while we continue to hold up our end of the bargain, again, because we HAVE to. You're fortunate 'o misguided one, that we are unable to strike. Who will keep the City from burning then....you????? And stop being so condescending you little prick. While you were buried in your books, drinking and smoking pot towards a college degree, I was overseas proudly serving and bearing arms for this country and ingrates like yourself. That is the path I chose and it doesn't make me any less intelligent or less qualified than you Mr. Citizen. So shut your trap. Back in the late 60's a local chief put a restaurant off limits because the owner only charged cops half price, the owner had his lawyer send the chief a letter that he was going to be sued by the owner as the chief could NOT TELL HIM WHAT TO CHARGE FOR HIS FOOD. They do it to have a uniform sitting in the place idiot. Cheapest insurance they can get.
