    lies

It is a shame that the police department is full of lies and liars. It is acceptable because nothing is being done to anyone for lying; the lies are blatant and are in your face. The department does everything possible to protect the liars, sergeants lie and are still employed. Defense attorneys would have a field day in court with these LEO'S.
The chief has promoted a lot of incompetence, no wonder they are having a tough time promoting to LT. It should have been relatively simple but when you promote incompetence, how can you promote further? It is not easy anymore to promote as the Port is now overseeing the promotions. Maybe, if B and B were still there promotions would have been easy, because integrity and job knowledge is not required to move-up in this PD. There should be an officer with 2 weeks experience that can lie well.

Ok, got it! The final 3 for the chief's interview include (1) part time Officer and 2 full time officers. The question is why did any of the present supervisors make the list? It is a disgrace that present supervisors cannot make the list, what does that tell you? The fact of incompetent supervisors are surfacing and it is reflecting on the chief as he was the authority that signed off on the promotions. If Lt. B and Lt. B were still there the present supervisors would have been in the final 3 and promoted. Now, that HR is involved it is not quite as easy to do as they want in the empire. They should put the present supervisors through the new proposed process for promotion just to see their abilities, I would get some popcorn for the results. The chief should hang his head in shame again, oops, if he did his chin would hit the ground. Goodluck with the gypsy PD!!!!

    Re: lies

Well, finally a Lt. was promoted, he was a part time officer. I cannot imagine with all that talent there as supervisors that a part timer (officer) got the job over them (shameful). Even to promote him was a struggle, as evident by the extended time taken to make the promotions. This part time officer was a captain at Orange County S.O.; he was only a captain because he performed the duties of a clergy for the SO. You may also want to look at his ability to function as a Lt. and not a clergy, I think you will see some incompetence there too. Just think that was the best they had!!

    Re: lies

The chief's great idea of hiring part-time officers just went down the tubes, did the supervisors take a photo of that and pass it around? They are know for photographing things that go down the tubes. This is the result of incompetence, more to come!
