Tom Knight loses $597,593 employee lawsuit

There are always two sides to every story. If an employee is disgruntled, his complaint might still be legitimate, which is why the last disgruntled employee was given over a half-million dollars, based on the error(s) of Knight.

The SO has not not had a decent Sheriff in a long time.

The last decent sheriff was Geoff Monge. There hasn't been a good Sarasota sheriff since he left. The current sheriff, Knight, tried to break the union, but he lost by a landslide, again, because he is not trusted.

Another employee lawsuit just came out last week (not the half-million one). I know that employee and he is not disgruntled, although since he filed suit against Knight, Knight might beg to differ. This one stems from a child pedafilia case involving a Knight appointee at the staff level (long story).

You guys are very blessed to have Sheriff Steube. Sarasota County can only envy you for what you have.

Tom Knight is a Great Man and a Wonderful Sheriff.

He could be a Chief or Sheriff anywhere in the State or Country

Agreed: There are always two sides to every story. If the courts are ruling against Knight in these gigantic financial payouts, then it clearly shows that a disgruntled employee may be disgruntled because of unfair treatment. In that case, being disgruntled is perfectly acceptable. In the end, it’s the taxpayers who are left holding a bag of shit because of Knight’s mistakes.
