How do you figure that this one isn't Knights fault? Knight fired him. Not Balkwill, not Monge. This was a planned response to BG not taking the PT test. He was fired at training. Some supervisor didn't do that on his own. That came directly from Knight. This was all Knight. It may not come out of his pocket but the BOCC no all they have had to pay for during Knights term. So does the public. The article isn't even out in the paper and the SHT forums are already all over this. I love it!

This IS Knight's issue. It was Knight's firing. Knight made the determination to fire Bob, with the concurrence of legal adviser Kurt Hoffman. This is disgusting. :roll:

Obviously the BOCC disagreed with Mr. Knight's and Mr. Hoffman's legal decision to fire Sgt. Graham because they paid him 3/4th of a million dollars. That's quite a hefty admission of culpability.

Knight and the 2nd floor staff doesn't care about deep payouts because:
1. It does not come out of our budget because the BOCC pays for it.
2. It doesn't come out of their pocket.

Knight has deep pockets because it's the BOCC who pays for all these giant financial losses.

Knight put on quite a show at the most recent BOCC meeting in his attempt to get a larger budget. That's when he criticized SPD Chief DiPino.

I've also heard Knight's embelleshed stories of how he worked as a block mason and how he will have to return to it if things dont work out here. However, he has become too old, fat and out of shape to return to block masonry. Its a good ear tingler on his part though.

Knights ego is as big as Montana and that has become a problem.

The giant lawsuits that taxpayers are paying out comes out of the pockets of block masons and other laborers who are earning 8 to 12 dollars an hour. They are the ones paying for Knights big ego and monumental financial blunders.

If he couldn't do the PAT, he should have resigned and been hired as a civilian specialist.

Fact is they should have worked a deal out with you back in 01 so that you could still work, be a benefit to the agency with your computer skill and that would have solved the problem. Truth is ole Billy Boy took care of you for all those years and then he left a mess for someone else to deal with.

If you were allowed to continue on full duty with your physical limitations how is that fair to everyone else who gets hurt and has to abide by our agency polcies, go on light duty ,etc.??

Nice settlement. That with what you should have had in FRS probably helps get you to what your lump sum would have been had you made it to 25 years of service. Sounds like a nice amount but we have an agency full of cops from your generation who pissed away that same amount after DROP and are back to work here.
