Like any government job, promotions and appointments are based on politics and nepotism rather than ability and experience. Same in this agency,

All the promotions are great. If anyone says anything different you will be made fun of on this site.

They must not be too bad cause it took you as the representative of the pot stirring whiners four days to make your first post on this rag site since they were announced. BTW all well deserved. Look at the list all working corporals and no SWAT bubbas. Things are looking much better every day.

You're SWAT or You're not. Not all but some of these promotions are a joke. Keep trying to convince yourselves that you earned those bars or stripes. All working corporals you say, this could make for an interesting debate. The definition of working is the act of a person or thing that works. This does not include driving around looking in the mirror combing your hair and not taking a call.

This department has developed a culture in which the brass refuses to work based on some RHIP at the lower management level. I suggest you change your attitudes or more people will be leaving this place for Tampa P.D.
