    Revitalizing Midtown

The people will one day join together to revitalize midtown. This will result in renewed prosperity for the people who live there. The area is full of talented people who are oppressed by the evil of economic inequity. This tragic cycle can be stopped. It CAN be stopped.
The city of StPete should take the first step in making this happen. Instead of keeping its power by keeping the economics of midtown like a foot on the throat of its talented residents who just want to prosper too, the city should SHARE its power evenly to bring about fairness for the first time. The city "leadership" should invest in opening businesses for the good people of midtown to operate and work at. More jobs is the key to ending the cycle of poverty and hopelessness. The Reverend Doctor Louis Farrakhan has made such a commitment to the city of Detroit to end the oppression of poverty and to bring back a city with a rich tradition of African American culture. StPete is very similar and closer than Detroit to being revitalized so there is no reason to not do the same thing here.
There are many African American employees of SPPD who would gladly and lovingly take a volunteer role in this and work for overtime hours to better the community. There is no reason to avoid these choices any longer. Mr. Mayor and members of the City Council, it is time to do what is right and the African American men and women of SPPD are ready to take a leadership role in making such an investment a success.

I'm pretty sure there are not "plenty of African Americans" who work for SPPD. This issue is the segregation which people of south side still believe today. There are Americans who work for SPPD, black Americans if you will. We don't call of the white officers "english or British Americas." If we stop segregating ourselves, maybe (BIG MAYBE) the black people of south side will learn to stop seeking entitlement and end the pervasive reverse racism which is pitting "south side against north side."

Can you give a few examples of large cities where this has been done successfully?

The city has already put a lot of money into redeveloping midtown and regardless of how uch money they put in it is never enough. There was also an assistant mayor G.D. that was in charge of redeveloping midtown and the city gave him a very healthy paycheck for it.

The original post is obviously bait from a certain anti gov't group looking to cause trouble. Avoid thoughtless venting and giving them fuel for their fantasy and effort to be given more money for doing nothing except threatening to burn the city down.

Your right. Just how much public taxpayer money & effort needs to be repeatedly wasted towards always trying to put lipstick on a pig? The vast majority of those that choose to live in South St Pete DO NOT care one bit about sprucing up the area. This is quite evident by the fact that they repeatedly trash, vandalize or ocassionally burn down :snicker: any structures or facilities that are built with the intent to revitalize the area. Sad but unfortunately true.

The reason Sweetbay moved out is to make theft more difficult. It was too easy for the "locals" to ride their stolen bikes to the store to steal their malt liquor, rap snacks, etc...

Nope, you cant just "poof" make more jobs appear. Even if you could that would never solve the underlying issue. The real key to ending the cycle is just that; to end the cycle. Stop letting deadbeat, genetically inherent low IQ people keep having and promoting the furtherance of child birth. End of story. If you disagree you are among the same category and lack the intelligence to understand the formula.

... and to add to my last post; the problem with America is spelled within your name:

    "Level the playing field"

This goes completely against how humans have evolved to be as smart as we are today. We keep "leveling the playing field" to help the people who carry low IQ's in their genetics survive in the constantly growing society we have built today. Nowadays you need a higher median of IQ to become successful. This is good because it promotes the necessity for those with more adaptable intelligence to bear the children as opposed to the opposite.

However, there has been a gap within the dividing nation that has grown exponentially as of late. By this I mean that those with lower IQ's have been gradually becoming even more stupid. Those with higher have become more smart. And instead of keeping a growing trend of increasing the requirements for education and prosperity high, we have gradually lowered them. Thus allowing those who should not have children instead have the majority of the nations child births.

    Re: Revitalizing Midtown

The reality is that "...you can't fix stupid." Low IQ, no morals, no work ethic, and the only activity is genetic-- to plunder from those who have worked, saved, invested, and care.

And as Robert Blake's TV character, Beretta and his bird, "Fred," used to say: "And that's the truth."
