The problem with the Northend is the command staff is made up of a bunch of affirmative action tokens that have no business being in positions of command. Look at the list of majors that have been there in the last several years, it is like a who's who of dumb and dumber. Williams, Cunningham, Brown, Mcqueen two or three times, every time he is dumped out of another section, all are idiots that promoted to major just because they are negros. As long as only incompetent black staff members are assigned to the north end it will continue to be out of control.

One day you may come to appreciate and thank Orosa for his laissez–faire(1) approach to policing the Northend. The fact is most citizens within that area of Miami don’t want the police to proactively deal with the crime problem in their community; especially drug dealing, as it is a thriving cottage industry there. Elected officials too don’t want the negative attention killing a person or persons who the investigating officer reasonably believed posed an immediate and lethal threat to him brings. In this Exposito erred in not grasping the not so subtle nuances of policing a community that does not want to be policed. In this Orosa is correct, handle your calls for service and when there is a killing or multiple ones, handle the call, preserve the crime scene as well as the circumstance permit, watch the Medical Examiner collect the carcass or carcasses, collect your overtime if there is any to be had and go home to your loved ones at the end of your shift.

Crime has been, is, and will continue to be pervasive and systemic in communities that resent and reject police efforts to stem crime; just look at Chicago! Why? Proactive policing is like making an omelet; one has to crack some eggs. In policing, officers engaged in proactive policing tactics will invariably encounter persons that will not heed directions, orders and instead engage in behavior that give the proactive officers reasonable grounds to believe their lives are in imminent danger. The option then is wait to see whether the suspect produces a firearm and shoots or take immediate self-defense action, up to and including deadly force, as permitted by Florida Statute.

So stop criticizing Orosa, whether he is doing it by omission or not, he is keeping you from the flames. If you don’t agree, just imagine what Goyos is going through?

True . . . after Regalado lied by saying the police department under his administration would "fight violence with violence" and Exposito believed he had “carte blanche.” Remember the infamous video? Moral of the story: believe not the political class; it is formed by venal or unscrupulous persons and less the political hacks they appoint.
