Re: Dirty cops
It's not Channel 6...it's CBS4.
Monday night at 11pm Jim DeFede will follow up on this story...
(MIAMI HERALD) Aug. 13, 2011 - A Kendall District police squad, made up of five to six officers and a sergeant, has been put on suspension with pay while the Miami-Dade Police Internal Affairs Bureau conducts an investigation.
The squad has been on suspension for at least a month. But Miami-Dade police have little else to say other than that Internal Affairs in investigating their conduct while on duty.
Maj. James O’Donnell, who heads the Kendall District station, said: “At this point they are under investigation for actions conducted while on their work schedule. Once the investigation is complete, appropriate action will be taken, if necessary.”
Although police internal affairs investigations of individual officers are not uncommon with an agency as large as the Miami-Dade Police Department, a probe of an entire squad is unusual.
Documents pertaining to internal investigations of police officers are exempt from Florida’s public records law until the probe is complete.
The boundaries of the Kendall District are Southwest 40th Street (Bird Road) to the north, Southwest 152nd Street (Coral Reef Drive) to south, Biscayne Bay on the east and Florida’s Turnpike on the west.

Re: Dirty cops
Even if this is true, I don't consider them "dirty". Stupid maybe, but not dirty.

Re: Dirty cops
Old news. This was already dealt with. Some of them were suspended and a couple of them were fired.

Re: Dirty cops
You are correct newshawk. That is often what happens with cases that are long in getting completed. The local media initially reports with a lot of hoopla but then they forget and don't follow up.

newshawk you should look into the mayors choices for promotion in the police dept and the behind the scenes connections, If rumors true hes doing another Timoney passing over the senior experienced people for brand new who will do what he wishes versus what is right for voters.
