Leblanc merely did what was expected, and covered for Robinson; as well as all the officers involved. He was merely being a good "Foot Soldier" for the department; hoping that he would receive the recognition that he felt he had earned (e.g. going out of his way to exonerate Robinson). Needleless to say Bernadette was pleased with LeBlanc's final report, because the report protected her "pet".

Back to IAC 12-004. Robinson was the senior SPD Officer at the scene. IAC report 12-004 goes to great lengths to describe how Robinson distinguished himself that day. Not by taking charge of the scene, and/or ensuring proper protocol was being followed. Nope, Robinson had no clue what was going on. He admitted during depositions that didn't care to ask what was going on. He wasn't interested. Wasn't his job to get involved. Robinson was merely a bystander. No different than the dozens of civilians who were also present observing.

Notwithstanding his desire to not get involved, or even being the least bit curious as to what had just occurred, Robinson admitted that he started taking digital photos of the scene. When challenged by Leblanc with the fact that the pictures he took contradicted the arresting officers PCA, Robinson stated that his pictures were never intended to be used in the investigation, nor were they intended to corroborate the arresting officers PCA. Nope - he was simply taking 'random' pictures.

This must be how the SPD distinguishes itself from other agencies - by promoting the Best Brightest.

Thanks for the information on the IAC report. It appears to once again show the type of leader that Bernie is looking for. Mr. Barwin are you still reading this ? Officers at SPD are begging for a intervention from you. Please do your job. Robinson you are also in over your head, no wonder the Feds won't hire you.

Everyone should know that before an IA is started the investigator is told by the command what the outcome will be, therefore the IA and the investigation and witnesses interviews are geared for that outcome. John was just following orders :roll:

If the citizens of Sarasota can't Trust the local Chief of Police (and her Staff) to execute their sworn duties faithfully & honestly, who can they Trust?

Why isn't Commissioner Chapman the past Chair of the Police Advisory Panel all over this? I guess she is busy trying to repeal stand your ground.

I thought the purpose of a civilian oversight/review panel, was to eliminate the things that took place during the IA 12-004 investigation. So much for repairing our image, do as I say and not what I do.

What was 12-004 anyway?
