Hey as long as we are being idiots, why not make it 5 years? That way an officer won't even be vested. That would save the state some money.

When I first read this plan, up and or out, I thought it was a bad idea. However, having been with the state now for about ten years, and earning less than when I started, maybe it would of been a good thing to be let go because I was

deadwood

. I could of used all my energy to start a new career and wouldn't be in the shape I am in now.

Also, if this plan were in place before I had applied, I doubt if I would of even followed through with joining up. Like one of the previous posts said, hindsight is 20/20.

I didn't hire on so I could live my life working off duty. I would rather spend time with my family or develop a hobby. I hope things get better, but I don't see that.
