As a city of Clearwater citizen, are you telling me that after a 30 day suspension, these officers were promoted?

yes. it happens all the time here. how do you think that suspended (now LT) got his friend LT RC promoted, and himself promoted to LT? take a look at the posts and information on LT RC's activity (on CWPD and PCSO's LEO web sites). and this cwpd department promoted him to LT knowing his record and activity. does not stop there? we have another LT who reportedly looking at porn on department computer. and more. we hear we have civilians (and civilian managers) that like other employees spouses (sworn and non sworn). and as one post above said when their files were available at promotion or selection for assignment time, it was not the files with clean records that were selected. nope. it be the files full of dirt and IA records and issues. that article above is a example of what some believe cwpd has become. not to mention the activity at the FOP parties. and this years activity ain't the first, nor be the last. it makes wonder after reading the article above which ain't all of it, and reading about the LT RC goings on, how these employees are selected and promoted. or does it. maybe its for the control that can be put on them and for their value system or lack of that makes them valuable or useful to the top. but then it does seem to be the top where much this activity is going on doesn't it- is IA part of the solution or problem- shameful and unprofesional

First time ever attended the banquet. Yes, it was a bit Frat Party meets Real Housewives meets Reno 911, but I have to say what a lovely and classy group of officers, wives and girlfriends that my husband and I had the pleasure of sitting with at our table.

Luckily God (or alcohol) shielded (or made me oblivious) to some of the craziness going on. After reading some of these comments, I wonder was I at the same party? It was at the Marriot in Sand Key right?

Thank you to the organizers of the event, job well done. If I may make only one suggestion: please make sure there plenty of water available. They ran out of water at the hospitality bar! Yikes! Feeding all these people copious amounts of alcohol and no water - not a good mix.

Overall good event, if you stay away from the insanity. Next year, I’ll make sure to bring a water bottle with me and a video camera! Who needs realityTV?

What happened to the brotherhood? You complain behind the scene, but don't have the courage to do so face to face. Anonymity is a problem on sites like this, allowing cowards to hide behind their computers, and leverage complaint/accusations about others. I would have thought that if one of our brothers has had a little too much to drink and is acting in a manner that is offensive to others, then someone would have intervened and removed him from the scene. The term “got your back” has a whole new meaning at CPD. It’s become a RATS nest. Cry babies who have been passed over looking for redemption on the backs of guys that have worked hard their whole careers. This is a whole new breed that feel the need to air all of their dirty laundry on face book, LEO affairs, etc… If this department does find itself in a position of being taken over by a larger agency you will provide the ammo to make it happen.

:cop: BROTHERHOOD?? ARE YOU KIDDING? THERE HAS NOT BEEN BROTHERHOOD AT THIS PLACE FOR A VERY LONG TIME. SOUL SELLING AND ASS KISSING AND UNDER THE TABLE DEALS ARE THE NAME OF THE GAME. BROTHERHOOD. HA - FUNNY. AND WHY DO PEOPLE SPEAK OUT AND SPEAK UP WITHOUT SPLATTERING THEIR NAME. BECAUSE OF PAY BACK AND REPERCUSSIONS. PERHAPS YOU COULD UNDERSTAND THAT. APPARENTLY SOME TRIED TO INTERVENE AND SOME TOOK SOME ACTION REPORTEDLY. IT IS UP TO THE HUSBAND TO CONTROL HIS WIFE. ISNT IT? THIS IS NIT NEW AT THESE EVENTS. WHY SHOULD SOMEONE RISK INTERVENTION. SO THEY CAN GET IN AN ALTERCATION? BUT IT IS NOT THEIR JOB, AND IF SOMEONE WANTS TO BE AN ASS AND ACT LIKE AN ASS THAT IS THEIR CHOICE. DID YOU EVER THINK THEIR PLAN WAS TO BEHAVE LIKE THAT SO THEY COULD GET TO BE NOTICED AND BECOME ONE OF THE CHOSEN ONES? LOOK AT THE SELECTIONS AND YOU CAN SEE WHY BEHAVING LIKE THIS IS GOOD TO BE NOTICED AND CHOSEN. SPARE US THE "guys that have worked hard their whole careers". YOUD BETTER LOOK AT THEIR LIVES-CAREERS-AND FILES. SOMEONE SAID ABOVE THAT THE FILES OF THOSE NOT CHOSEN ARE CLEAN AND SPOTLESS AS ARE THEIR LIVES. BUT THE FILES AND LIVES OF THE CHOSEN ARE FULL OF ISSUES-SUSPENSION-TROUBLE. NOT TO MENTION BEING DETAINED BY OTHER AGENCIES-ADMITTED "SEX-ADDICTIONS"-INFIDELITY WITH OTHER MARRIED EMPLOYEES-AND MORE. SO SHOULD SOMEONE WITH MORALS AND VALUES AND INTEGRITY AND A CLEAN RECORD HAVE SOME SAY WHEN THOSE CHOSEN HAVE JUST THE OPPOSITE? IF YOU WERE AN EMPLOYEE HERE- PERHAPS YOU JUST MIGHT BE AWARE OF THAT. ON THE OTHER HAND IF YOU ARE AN EMPLOYEE MAYBE YOU FIND THIS SORT OF BEHAVIOR NORMAL AND ACCEPTED AND DESIRED. PERHAPS YOU AGREE THIS IS THE WAY UP THE CORPORATE LADDER TO THE CHOSEN ONE. "If this department does
find itself in a position of being taken over by a larger agency you will provide the ammo to make it
happen". WE CAN ONLY HOPE SO. MANAGEMENT IN BOTH BUILDINGS DO NOT SEEM TO WANT TO MAKE CHANGES AND THE FOP APPEARS TO HAVE ITS OWN AGENDA FOR INDIVIDUALS SUCCESS. SO IF YOU CARED- REALLY CARED- YOUD WANT THIS DEALT WITH-AND EXPOSED- AND CORRECTED. UNLESS YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM AND CONCUR WITH ALL THE EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITY.

Point taken. There has always been suspect choices for management positions. Same as it was years back. That said, it seems everyone is quick to throw each other under the bus. I guess it's a different time, with a different crew. Just remember if you do get a promotion, the same will be said of you. Good luck.

    sorry Re: 2013 banquet

I posted on this thread in the heat of the moment and now regret it. My apologies to everyone as when we vent on this forum it hurts people's feelings and just looks bad for all of us. Must stay away from this place. Be safe and take care - after its all said and done the health and safety of our officers and their families is all that truly matters. And yes we will go to the banquet next year because no matter what, we will support each other in our accomplishments.

Proud of you "ugh". We are ALL human. Agreed.... This place adds fuel to the fire, when fuel doesn't need to be added. Its understandable that officers need to vent and this place provides the opportunity for that, but remember this is a public forum and things that are said can't be taken back.
At the end of the day, the ONLY thing that matters is everyone goes home to their families. God Bless.
