Open Positions
Hello. I see you folks have an advertisement out for Police Officer. I've got a few years experience and am looking to make a move. Can you tell be how quickly the hiring process moves for someone who's got all their ducks in a row? What type of candidate are you looking for? I'm big on community policing and have some experience dealing with 2 schools in my zone. How is morale on the department? You all be safe and thanks.

Re: Open Positions
The truth is the salary will be about 42,000 a year with a 4,000 Det supplement that’s it, No step’s, if your Ok with making this amount for the rest of your career than it’s the job 4 U. We have Officers with 15-20 years on this job making the same amount as the rookie cops they hired last month.

Re: Open Positions
We did not vote gainst it. 2/3 voted for it, but we're like any other pd - what we want and what's best for us doesn't matter. It's up to the five or seven or nine, or whatever # commissioners to vote for it.
