The 5th District Court of Appeal has granted convicted felon Christina Perera a stay, which blocks the Florida Department of Corrections from filing a violation of probation charge until it reviews her full case.

Perera's attorney, Melanie Slaughter, had requested an emergency hearing after probation officers announced they planned to file violation charges against Perera for not disclosing she was operating a Christian school in Georgia.

Circuit Judge Hale Stancil revoked, and then reinstated, Perera's probation. The appellate court will determine if he had jurisdiction to put her back on probation.

The article itself sheds a lot of light on the problem. Georgia never monitors the cases they accept via Interstate Compact, further evidenced by the fact that Child Welfare notified Florida DOC of the issue. If Georgia had done proper employment verification, they would have known sooner what this offender was up to as she was not working the job she reported she was needing to transfer out-of-state for... I once had a an offender in Georgia move 2 hours away, gone for 2 months and commit an L & L; the officer did not even know the offender was missing until I called her!!!!

Yea, but what about the Fla. judge that ET her with out imput. He went thru a stack of papers. I am guessing their is an Administrative Judge for their Circuit. Our Fl. Judge should be removed from presideing over Criminal Cases.

Atty. General Bondi instead of spending a million dollars on Zimmerman or 35 million dollars fighting the Affordable Health Care Act (Obama Care for you Racist) should investigating the Criminal Justice System in Florida.
