BSO still have 25 and drop.. maybe it's time to think about the green and white.. yeah it means micro management, daily productivity reports and shiney shoes but if the benefits outweigh your working conditions then maybe it's time for that conversation. And remember who did this to you, it was not the members of this department that took money from you, it was the sitting city commission. It's election time right now.. if you're unhappy about what the commission has done to you get out there and support the candidates who will support you.

You are right BSO is an option....voting out the old commission would be nice...not likely to happen (we have been supporting the new prospects)....but most would rather see new union people working on our future. It is really hard to sit by and watch the "haves" in the DROP assigned to the DB or other specialized units getting 5% more, sucking up the details and/or CRA Beach overtime. Knowing they are going to get a $13,000 extra check for their $450,000+ DROP account! Are you kidding me??? The people in the DROP should be assigned to the road....they should not be working details....we have non-DROP members with young kids humping it on the road, making less money, can't get details, looking into getting food stamps and praying they don't loose their homes! Hollywoods brotherhood is doing its best to keep our heads up...but as individuals....its the hardest times of our lives....our families are suffering! But hey....they got theirs...why would they give a crap about our "fair and equitable" futures???

I agree with you, if you "have" the drop already share some of the other perks like details and o.t. with the Have nots. The leadership could facilitate that if they wanted. They could steer some of the detail and o/t/ money towards the members who have kids and are low in the step pay. The leadership needs to lead by example and encourage the haves to help out the have nots. Somehow, I don't think the leadership will be doing the right thing. Not all the members are that selfish,.. look at all the cops who have left who really could have gained by staying in the drop and didn't. They gave up all that drop money,... what does that tell you? They couldn't give their drop time to someone else but it is so bad they left thousands of dollars to get the heck out.... It is the hardest times of your lives... hang on... do the best you can,.... celebrate happy healthy family and kids.... You're in for a rough couple of years but this can't last forever,... if it lasts much longer it may be time too look for an employer who will pay you enough to feed your family.

We need to keep our focus on our real enemy the mayor and his puppet commission Not the Chief not fellow officers who were lucky enough to make it into the drop. We should also take pride in the fact that our collective opted for paycuts accross the board rather than have our new officers laid off, while some local agencies voted to screw their new officers we fought them until they imposed their plan. Let's not forget that your "Haves" have funded your legal team. Keep your eyes on the prize not your brothers plate

Yes the "haves" have funded the legal team... but they don't need to run up the score and spike the ball while some members worry about their kids lunch money. It's hard not to look on "your brothers" plate when your brother is fat and happy and you got hungry skinny kids. The "haves" could throw a detail to a "have not" to help them out. The leadership could encourage the o.t. go to the people having to feed their kids without the financial net of the drop. That's not too much to ask. It's called humanity. And yes the commission is the enemy, I only say that as I read they are going to "give" 23 million to the margaritaville project. Just sickening!

I don't know anyone wearing a Hollywood badge that is fat and happy everyone I know has been and is taking their lumps the toys are going or gone the house gone vacations aren't its coupons rice and beens. Yeah if you have a drop you can look at the numbers on a piece of paper but to use it as a "safety net" is a foolish move.Remember that guy is going to be unemployed. With a very few exceptions the pension will cover a little better than half the bills. If you need work put it out there that you are in trouble no doubt you will get priority.Running up the score? Spiking the ball? Dude everyone in this place is sick over this.Stop trying to pit groups against each other. We need to stick together now more than ever.

Ya...I feel real bad about those DROP people paying off their houses, debt and cars....its a real crying shame they can afford to keep their kids in college, and a roof over their heads! Awe poor babies no more toys and vacation homes..! It shouldn't be too hard unemployed and collecting a pension with no major expenses to deal with....your right...we shouldn't be upset!

You are right. Drop members need to be aware how it is for those who do not have. It's easy to say stick together when your cup runneth, over but you must remember that you're little brother's cup is empty and your little brother should not have to beg for food. The big brother should be aware and help out without being asked. That is what a family does.

You know what have it your way keep *****ing in an open forum , fragmenting ,putting shit out on here makes you - us look week. You can blame our union Its the chiefs fault. You may as well be working for city halls mission to take everything from us. If you want to get back what was stolen from you like it or not you are going to have to buck up and show solodarity or you will continue to be victimized.
