Does the Chief ever promote anyone other than those with upstairs assignments? I've been here for over ten years and have never seen an officer promoted from an assignment on the ground floor.

Think of the most recent promotions. The chief picked 4 out of 5 sergeants that aren't much taller than she is.

Well you hit the nail on the head. Forget the last 4 of 5 accomplishments and lets attribute their promotions on their height. Tell him what he's won folks.

This is a classic example of the egregious disconnect between the administration and the heart of this agency; the work force that actually goes out and has contact with the public everyday. This also explains why those whom were more qualified than the recent selections were overlooked. They were not passed over due to the quality of those qualifications, but rather their lack of contact hours with the admin. What other explanation could there be? *It's a pattern of absent leadership from the administration that is obvious only through the repetitive execution of their actions.

The take away: If you ever want to be promoted in this place just take a job in services, don't make a peep, and you are good. The last two picks just show that the leadership of this place is scared of those who would turn this place around. Those who the troops would respect and gladly work with were passed over for those who will just keep swallowing the massive loads that are pinched off by those upstairs. I guess you can't expect much more from a command staff who could give 2shitz about actually conducting police work or promoting those that do.
