    Re: Backgrounds

I recently heard from an employee in Clewiston that Mark Chamberlain's wife was shot in the line of duty. Is there any truth to this? I was told that she was also a cop, and is retired.

Well the candidates are the ones running. Not their families. So it is moot. Besides do not get WS side fired up. Had to listen to that last time around whining about not signing up for it, and bellyaching about the whole shebang. Of course not complaining forthwith about that check that comes in regularly.

So leave the families out. Everyone else is fair game in the race.

Also one might want to check out HOW one would become a Captain in Palm Bch County Sheriffs Office. I can assure you it is waaaaay above and beyond what happens normally in anyother agency. Look at their salaries their staff commands, and you will see it is because of what they have to attain before they are even considered.

There is a difference to be noted here as well. Mr Chamberlain does not need to be "married" or connected to anyone whom is questionable or dirty in Hendry County. He has satisfied his retirement requirements. Having said that, WS on the other hand being in the financial hole, NEEDS this badly. So much so he will do ANYTHING to keep it. Including selling his soul to the devil which has been done.

Lastly consider this. If WS was to apply at a bank, or certain other professional occupations.....given his status financially, they would reject his application. HE would not qualify.

Time to send this loser packing with all his buddies and goons as well. They can all sit around a fire after they all lose and compare notes of what could have been.

    Good riddance.

I just saw this. This guy is out of his freakin mind! Does he even realize what is involved? This absolutely reeks of election attempts to gain fame. Whatever. What really bothers me is the fact that these three individual assessors are going to walk in without any clue of what goes on / has gone on there whatsoever. Granted there will be public input and an opportunity to tell the assessors whats happening. But seriously all things considered, for the small size of the agency, they don't have to meet very many of the standards required. It really is so simple and easy a monkey could do it. All that money, resources and effort to have the ability to put a decal on the cars, wear a pin, and print the logo on his letterhead. Big Deal. Accreditation has long gone out by the wayside and this reeks of Mumbles, and Lt. Hairs doing. Certainly not Super D. Too many rules and regulations and monitoring to go on for his tastes.

This is a crime prevention practioner pushing to get SOMETHING that he can actually say they did all by themselves. WOW.

Wonder how the rank and file feel about this. Cause boys and girls you can have all this money spent, all this jumping through your a**es, and you all are going to have to adhere to these standards, making things a lot more restrictive, a lot more paperwork, (a LOT MORE) and guess what???? doesn't do a darn thing for your benefits, your pay, nothing.

Matter of factly how is that wonderful union doing for you all? Has the contract ever been reviewed by any of you? That contract is worthless. You are not getting anything extra and above by having it. Check around some other contracts and see the huge differences between yours and theirs. You will be surprisingly shocked. All for the same amount of money spent each month.

So take this tidbit to the bank and you all had better educate all of your friends, families and inner circles as to what needs to be done in just 6 short weeks. You all can end this sillyness once and for good. Fire him along with his goons. Send the message.

    [quote="Guest"]Nice try!

A 24 year old DV "arrest," that made Chamberlain what 22-23 years old at the time? Where's the court outcome, how about any IA outcome? Looks like he still went on to get promoted 3 times afterwards, must not have been much to it.

As for his divorce, Chamberlain has made no bones about his second wife being his first wife, that's right, he and his current wife were divorced for a couple of years. Is that really anyone's business but theirs? Show us where he says he's been "happily married for 30 years?"

I find it a little confusing that one candidate can have an alleged marital problem, and now he is unfit to even run for office. But not so for your chosen candidate? Arrested? An important little detail it seems all hoped would never be discovered nor mentioned here. Your golden boy is becoming tarnished, but this happens when out-of-county candidates that no one really knows anything about want to come in here in take over, along with all their out of county staff appointments sure to follow. How hypocritcal, to bash one man with rumors or martial difficulties, and hide facts concerning another, even an arrest .

However, with what remains of our "freedom" to choose, I would encourage everyone to to vote for the democrat running against Walking Small, so that WS doesn,t even make the primary election. Then we are rid of him. He is done, and his goon squad is gone. No more of the man-handed Denture Cream Queen and her boy-toys, the arrogant Capt. Super D and his two sidekicks- backstabbing Goose and his private Hookertary, Mumbles, Rico Suave, lt. Cueball, and the rest. All gone, just waiting on the last day to get paid for doing nothing. Get the race down between the dem and the repub. Stop this character assassination of these two fine men. Yes, they are both fine men, but there is no "perfect" candidate. Then choose the best one for the job. The goal here, and I have seen only one post written by an idiot which attempts to threaten support for WS, is to DUMP the DWARF and get a fresh start. That is the goal.

Who's bashing who? Is there a difference between something that took place 24 years ago vs. something that is taking place in the midst of a campaign? To each his own as far as opinions go but most would say you're reaching!

As far as Chamberlain's so-called arrest, again, what was the court or IA disposition? If you're going to tell a story, tell the whole story, not just the part that suits your candidate's motives.

Out of county appointments? GET REAL! Who would want to go from Palm Beach money to Hendry money? Have you seen what they make over there? Equipment, benefits, career service and REAL union protections, yeah, ok, another far stretch. Instead of making up crap and starting bogus rumors, why not just ask the man what his plans are?
