    One less problem

Finally Largo PD gets rid of a lying, cheating abusive Officer. Why did it take so long when
He had several brutality complaints. Openly cheated on his wife with another Officer. Caused so many problems on the squad due to their behavior. Was caught lying
to the supervisors about sick time ( being seen at GF). Has a baby with the GF yet then gets busted with another female officer, nothing done and now the morally, ethic. Integrity
Inept officer brought the citizen girlfriend in soooo finally he is gone. WTH is wrong with the administration that it took a this. Hopefully you will get his ticket pulled by FDLE like you are legally required to do. You let two others skate which questions your integrity.
Happy days now that the boy toy is gone

And he was fired, or "forcibly resigned". Either way he is gone so who cares. Move on with things.

The fact that he was doing it in uniform, cruiser and the fact a citizen complained is the
Administrations business. The fact that his open affàir on the squad caused problems. Of course if the Admin had not tolerated that maybe (probably not) he would have stopped. Yet he was so arrogant he just continued and then made a citizen irate and hurt people.

One wonders how he juggled all the lies among so many. Lying to wife, to girlfriend, to fellow officers, to PD, and why so many, especial wife and girlfriend, believe him. Would not be surprised if he is still with wife, gf, and others even after being fired for this.

Why is it employers business you ask? In most professions it's not their business. In our profession morals, integrity, and honesty are cornerstones of what we do. It is also something that inevitably interferes with workplace. Wives find out and make scenes at lobby, girlfriends make complaints, and fellow cops become drawn in. Remember when one of his work hunnies psychopathic husband threatened to come to pd to shoot one of us because his wife was involved with our former boy toy? I certainly don't want to get shot because he can't keep his pants on during duty.

If you are not happy in relationship, fine, but do not involve work. Sex on duty is firable for a reason, ethics, morals, and negligence aside.

The only thing missing from this string is the acknowledgment that ALL members of this organization are obligated to report misconduct. If you knew about it and failed to act, you own some of it. Those who may feel that allowing an employee to resign instead of terminating them have never had the pleasure of preparing for, and testifying in, an arbitration hearing. Sometimes the unthinkable happens and someone who should be gone gets their job back. I suggest that the critics get off of their high horses. There is a book out there that talks about throwing stones. While leadership requires the communication of clear standards of conduct and behavior, the atmosphere created peers and first line supervisors is equally important. We all wear the same patch on our uniform, so keep that in mind when you are trying to decide what you will and will not tolerate from a co-worker. If you feel the need to express your high moral tone in a forum like this instead in a more meaningful way I guess you are not as firm in your convictions as you would like to think.

    To the above poster:

The cliches about throwing stones and high horses only apply to other adulterers. Was it also the officers' responibility to make sure he wore a condom during each liason? We are not the moral police and I don't think it's fair to say his whore attitude was our responsibility or problem to fix.

The true problem starts with our hiring practices. He "resigned" from Sunstar for similar circumstances, had numerous affairs & use of force complaints at PCSO, ""resigned" from PCSO for...again similar situation. We still hired him and guess what? Another resignation due to his affairs. Think I am simply talking gossip? Read his last IA at PCSO and speak with some longer term Sunstar employees. Sex involved both.

Our hiring standards need to improve.

You must hang out with 427 a lot or something if you think the things he did, and the people he affected at work, are not anyone's business. One officer resigned due to their involvement in him and 427 himself was "let go". How is this anything but the employers business?
