Preston - 268 / Aguilar - 176
For those of you not in the know, we broke a story earlier today about Jim Preston beating Armando Aguilar for the Florida State Lodge FOP Presidency. The vote was 268 to 176.
Sorry we couldn't save the City of Miami, but at least we saved the Great State of Florida.

BREAKING NEWS:* In a breaking news story published first by LEOAFFAIRS.COM, Jim Preston has been officially re-elected as President of the Florida State Fraternal Order of Police Lodge.* The vote took place at the 63rd Annual State Conference in Palm Beach Gardens on Friday, 06/15/12, at approximately 1555 hours.* Preston won with 268 votes to 176 votes.* Yes, we had our sources in attendance and wanted to bring this information to you first.
Jim Preston, the incumbent Florida State Lodge FOP President, was running for re-election against Miami FOP Lodge President Armando Aguilar.* Aguilar was also the Florida State Lodge FOP 2nd Vice President.* It’s no secret that Aguilar’s reign as the Miami FOP Lodge President has been highly controversial among Miami police officers with accusations of corruption, favoritism, mail fraud, etc..* When Miami cops attempted to overthrow Aguilar, they reported that the executive staff changed the by-laws to prevent this from happening.* Of course, since October of 2010 Miami cops have been posting on LEOAFFAIRS.COM about the issues that plague their local FOP lodge and they’ve been begging for help.* Unfortunately, this only resulted in Aguilar and some other South Florida FOP lodge presidents trying to stifle their own troops’ online right to free speech.* Thank God it didn’t work!

Re: Preston - 268 / Aguilar - 176
From Crespogram Report:
Aguilar, who along with current Police Chief Manny Orosa were implicated in the Leonardo Mercardo murder case, and whose close friendship with current Mayor Tomas Regalado has rankled many members of the local Lodge because of the way in which the Regalado administration repaid that friendship by screwing over the department at almost every opportunity, has been campaigning like he was a shoo-in for the job.
Can you spell LOWLIFES ?
Armando Aguilar and Chief Manuel Orosa, two peas in a pod.
