That is the new clone army they are looking for to replace the qualified veterans being shoved out the door in violation of numerous Federal labor laws.

HCSO has always recruited out of colleges/universities in the area. We are a large agency and we have many vacancies in patrol and in detention.

As for being desperate, that's entirely not the case. Hiring standards are the toughest they have ever been and that will not be changing any time soon. The Sheriff, recruitment, and training staff pride themselves in not sacrificing quality for quantity.

In a squad meeting this week, we were informed that HCSO also took pride in the fact that it ............"got rid of 27 people in 29 days".

    There you go!

Got rid of employees? Why get rid of people having sex on duty? Why get rid of people who are so overweight they can't even fall over a four foot wall? Madness.

    Re: Hcso understaffed?

They are not firing people, they are violating their civil rights and forcing them to leave the job by using a physical test that is a HUGE change over what they have had to pass for DECADES. The physical test is PROVEN to be discriminatory (see Pasco County's multi-million dollar settlement late last year). THE TAXPAYERS [b]WILL[b] BE PAYING OUT MUCH MUCH MORE WHEN BARRY COHEN GETS AHOLD OF DAVID GEE.

TOOOOOOOO BAD THE PRESS IS AFRAID TO CHALLENGE HIM. HE WILL SURELY GET ANOTHER FOUR YEARS AND IT IS BOUND TO START HITTING THE FAN DURING THAT TERM. THE THINGS THAT ARE BEING DONE IN THIS AGENCY CANNOT STAND FOREVER. EVENTUALLY, SOMEONE WILL GROW A BACKBONE AND HIRE A REAL ATTORNEY TO CHALLENGE THEIR FAMED LEGAL STAFF. I'VE HEARD ENOUGH BRAGGING ABOUT HOW READY THEY ARE TO FACE THE COURT CHALLENGES.

WHERE IS THE MAN THAT WILL STAND UP TO THE DOCOBO ADMINISRATION AND DEFEAT DAVID GEE. I GUESS HE IS STILL SITTING AROUND DRINKING COFFEE AT THE RADIANT.

This lawsuit will go no where. The Miliatry changes their PT standards all the time. All must comply or there's the door. The only place the Office will run into to trouble is the time standards. Even in the Army and Marines there are different time standards for different ages. Either way, even if the Office relaxed the time standard it will still not get people over the wall or pass the drag the dummy (Which in my opinion is harder than getting over the wall).

Keep the current test but change the time standards. If you can't get over a four foot wall in a cubicle in a pod or drag my 170lb arse out a pod, whether male or female, there's the door.

At some point in time the office is going to recognize the fact that setting one time for all is just not fair. No matter how good a shape a 55 year old is he/she is not in as good a shape as a 21 year old. Time takes its toll. The test times, as currently standardized, is either too difficult for the older deputies or too easy for the younger ones. There should be a time factor based upon age. Also, under what set of circumstances are you going to have to perform ALL of the stages one right after another (climb 70 steps, drag a dummy, climb over a wall, go through a window, push/pull a sled 5 times, and run cones all in a bit over 5 1/2 minutes. I would love to see someone create just such a scenario.
