what about the 150 officers that are facing Layoffs in the county? What is the PBA doing about that?

The M-D PBA is sinking with bad news, facing layoffs and bad political moves. The taxpayers have been poisoned towards police and fire. Both Mayors are out to dump on police. There is no one we can back right now who will help us. Time to find a future political person for us.

The Miami FOP ain't perfect...but they are the best for the MPD.

PBA President John Rivera sends Miami-Dade mayor a 'cease and desist' order

Last Friday, John Rivera, president of the Dade County PBA, sent a tersely worded letter to Miami-Dade mayor Carlos Gimenez, ordering him to "cease and desist from any further direct dealing with our membership on any issue."

The PBA and the Government Supervisors Association of Florida have scheduled a contract ratification vote on the 5% employee contribution for health care for Thursday, Jan. 12.

The Miami Herald reported "Gimenez said Friday he plans to veto the county commission’s decisions Thursday not to impose labor concessions on county unions, but added he will still move ahead and send out the first wave of pink slips to county employees on Friday Jan. 13."
