It's not a good idea to speed in your hometown, especially when you are the mayor of a city that recently slashed the pay of its police officers.

But that's what happened Monday to Hollywood Mayor Peter Bober, whose 2009 BMW was caught going 55 mph in a 35 mph zone a couple of blocks east of City Hall on Hollywood Boulevard, according to the citation.

Because he was detected via radar, it's unlikely the ticketing officer knew who he was pulling over until they came face to face.
