Hey dumbazz, we don't have the lusxury of driving around and selecting where, when and what we eat, that's why we need an employee cafeteria like the court house. Gualtieri and the morons in the BOCC would rather spend money on bums at Safe Harbor than jail deputies. We get breaks when/if available (many eat on post) and get a choice of inmate prepared food or fast food (McDonald's, BK or Taco Bell) which will ruin your health and kill you. Pack your lunch? Try eating cold cuts, PBJ and tuna fish for lunch for a couple of weeks and see how you like it. Better yet, Gualtieri should come down and eat the inmate prepared food every day to find out why the jail cafeteria was disliked by staff.

We have pay parity therefore any adjustment in pay would affect everyone. Why should the jail deputies take yet another two hits considering that they have already taken the 5% shift differential hit and 12 hour shifts in order to balance the budget? And patrol did not give up anything. The pain should be spread evenly to patrol and jail if further cuts have to be made.
