    DEP Police opening Hillsborough

    There is an opening for a Police Officer in Hillsborough County at Florida DEP (Department of Environmental Protection). The position covers Hillsborough River State Park, Alafia River State Park, Little Manatee River State Park, and Colt Creek State Park in Polk County. In addition to these areas, the Officer may work as needed in the surrounding areas. The duties consist of patrol by foot, marked patrol vehicle, ATV, and boat as needed. The officer enforces all state laws and administrative rules. Typical duties are traffic enforcement, criminal law violations, fishing and hunting compliance (hunting is not allowed in state parks), and more. Among the requirements is the candidate must be CJSTC certified and live within a 50 mile radius of the Hillsborough River State Park.
